President Bush to Hold White House Press Conference at 10 a.m.
Will veto stem cell bills
Talking about the embryo issue. Not using embryo research to destroy life. I will veto that. Important for the american people to know that there is a lot of research going on. We have an ethics panel that is working on the demands of science.
Sound of McCain choking.
"the issue is whether or not we use taxpayers' money for experimentation that destroys life"
"is a position that I stand strongly on"
"I will veto the bill as it now stands"
"The intelligence committtee reviewed the NSA report...asking for more is just more stalling" "It's a stall headed for a filibuster", he said about the cloture vote".
Sounds like he is giving it to them good! Hope some Dems are getting this. Isn't Congress on yet another recess this week?
He mentions the 600 embryonic stem cells that he originally approved for research with federal funding, and he says, he's being told there are another 3,000 that might fall into that same acceptable to him, category. He makes it clear he's basing his objection to federally funded embryonic stem cell research on principle.
No time table on North Korean diplomacy.
Good. If embryonic stem cell is the be-all and end-all, why aren't private companies pursuing it?
Here we go with N Korea. I believe that the 6 party talks are going to work We've got everyone on the same page. Tough on N korea. Once you get a country tocommitt on a goal, we can work on it. People do want to solve this issue diplomatically. If you( n Korea) want to be accepted by the international community, work with us.
Not without a major tear and subsequent cauterizing!
I love G.W., but he's speaking like he's in "a stall" or on ludes.
These reporters are just jumping all over the place to try to throw him. Now its on the culture of life. He's holding firm and batting the questions right back.
...President Bush, even after 9/11, he's done NOTHING except talk and playing Clintonesque word-games.
...and then have the gall to accuse someone else of piling it high?
I think he is very forceful and really responding point by point.
He's speaking like he needs a nap. Ah, ah, ah, well, ah .......... he sounds like Hillary without the "you knows".
W has decided that he has to speak in simple sentences to these reporters. To all of their constant refrain about his "not doing something about North Korea's and Iran's nuclear programs" he said -- I take it that you mean military means when you say that diplomacy isn't the right approach. I want to continue with diplomacy.
That will shut them up briefly.
I could listen to him all day. He makes more sense than anybody else available to listen to. Plus, I'm very partial to his Texas twang......
Supreme Court nominee! Depends on Senate giving a up or down vote. He's telling them he consults congress, but I intend to find people of a certain mind set like I said I would. I don't know what extrodinary means!
