TV GIRL SOUASHED MY BABY SOUIRREL May 28 2005
A REPORTER sent to do a story about a baby squirrel stood on the fluffy creature by mistake and killed it.
Inka Blumensaat wanted to tell how a pet cat had saved the orphaned squirrel by adopting it as her own.
But the friendly rodent jumped on her leg as she filmed her report and she panicked and trampled it underfoot, breaking its neck.
Heike Reher, whose cat adopted the squirrel in Lubeck, Germany, said: 'The reporter started leaping about like a mad woman. She squashed the squirrel completely.
'Everyone looked at the floor in horror where the little squirrel lay in a pool of blood.
'I picked my little treasure up and ran out of the house in tears. I was so upset I could not speak.
'The reporter came back with some flowers but I could not speak to her.'
Inka, who works for NDR TV, said: 'I regret the whole thing bitterly and wish there was something I could do to put it right
BWAHAAHAHA!
Jerk.
PETA and the local animal-rights groups might like to speak to you about having your Weimaraner spend some time in prison for murder. Please, tell your dog to hire a good attorney and to say nothing incriminating--your post indicates she may be a serial killer....
Am I the only one on this thread that thinks this is a sad story? That squirrel was someone's beloved pet. The reporter must feel absolutely horrible. While I don't like reporters in general, this was a sad story.
It was sad when my daughter's goldfish died, but it was just a fish. We live in a sick culture which values animals over humans.
Poor squirrell. I think it's a sad story.
Perhaps she is empathizing with the girl in the story more than with the squirrell. It is a sad story. It's always sad when a child loses a beloved pet.
Particularly in a manner such as this.
They want to make the news.
She thinks PETA stands for
Pets
Eating
Tasty
Animals
This story has nothing to do with "valuing animals over humans' although I agree with you it's a sick cultural problem we have.
It's a story about a girl's pet being killed by a careless reporter.
If some stupid reporter came over my house, acted like a berserk idiot, and stepped on my pet that I had spent time feeding and caring for, I would be ticked as heck.
It could have been worse. The little fella was obviously looking for nuts.

Oh, the memories this story brings back.
When I was a youngster back home on the farm, one day my cat drug in a dead squirrel. Being the kind-hearted youngster I once was, I made the cat hand over the dead squirrel, and as soon as I had the squirrel safely in my hands, the possum playing little bastard came to life, about bit my thumb off and ran up a nearby tree. I went and got my rifle and have been an avid squirrel hunter since.
HA HA!!!!!!!!!!
I ended up pumping carbon monoxide from my car into the attic with a hose.
Bye Bye squirrels.
haha, good for your husband. I think this story makes a very funny mind's picture. And so what?? Good grief, accidents happen. It'll turn that news reporter into a conservative, tho, want to bet?? Once she stops wallowing in guilt.
