WASHINGTON, May 29 - In the last few months, the small commercial air service to the naval base at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, has been carrying people the military authorities had hoped would never be allowed there: American lawyers.
And they have been arriving in increasing numbers, providing more than a third of about 530 remaining detainees with representation in federal court. Despite considerable obstacles and expenses, other lawyers are lining up to challenge the government's detention of people the military has called enemy combatants and possible terrorists.

Here's a quick solution: Any lawyer who arrives: Arrest them! If they are going to take the side of Terrorists, they should have all their rights striped.
Blood-sucking leeches. How could they betray AMERICA???

Media Shenanigans/Media Schadenfreude/PNMCH ping -
The NYT can't even give the US military bashing a rest on Memorial DayHappy Memorial Day from the Times and the rest of the MSM, veterans! Here's spit in your eye! (Which, BTW, never happened, according to many Leftist apologists!)
On, Off, or grab it for a Media Shenanigans/Schadenfreude/PNMCH ping:

You can always tell when the MSM starts lying. They start with a simple observation from Doctor Obvious - "enemy combatants and terrorists" and note that a bad guy [in this case, the military] "has called" the obvious what it obviously is, and paste in a "possible".

Just remember this: the United States military (in the battlefield) constitutes our first, last, and only line of defense against the worst scum of the universe. So what do these lawyers (the next-to-worst scum of the universe) do? They encroach on the battlefield to GIVE AID AND COMFORT TO THE ENEMIES of the United States!

The increase in lawyers for Guantánamo detainees was set in motion last June when the Supreme Court ruled against the Bush administration and said the prisoners there were entitled to challenge their detentions in federal courts. As I was saying, the US courts are providing for due process for these detainees. That of course will not be reported in France, I am sure.

"In Rising Numbers, Lawyers Head for Guantánamo Bay" Can we send all the terrorist sympathizer/ACLU lawyers there, then nuke it?

These lawyers have no authority to even be allowed on the prison grounds. If they try, arrest them and try them for trespassing without authority.

These people at Gitmo are terrorists who want YOU and ME to die, Mr. Lawyer. These terrorists are not American citizens, they do not have any rights. So get back in your company Lear, go back to NY or SF.

It will be interesting to see how the Supreme Court gets itself out of this mess. Having ruled that the Taliban extremists have rights in the US, how can they now say that they can't sue?

Oh by the title I was hoping that American Lawyers were now being called enemy combatants and were being held in Cuba.
No such luck I guess. :[

I resent that my tax dollars are paying these 'lawyers', but then I know they wrote the rules of full employment.

The NYT cheerleading for the bad guys again, eh? This is as close to a non-starter of a news story I've ever seen. Applying their considerable credibility(~snrk~) to this non-event increases the difficulty level for "W" and our troops to wage the WOT. Oh right; that's the plan.
