Oh, dang, you mean Germany has the same problem as we do?

The ole, "we have jobs that Americans don't want to do ploy, in order to keep the borders open"?

Gosh, maybe we could get a ship from Mexico to Germany!

Partly true but then on the other hand most countries in Europe are capitalist in as much as they are ruled by big business and the banking system and are dependant upon worldwide market economies not just their own.

The biggest problem is that the 2 do not mix Europe wants the benefit of a Capitalist system for prosperity but also for comfort and to be seen as caring societies etc wants extensive welfare systems its a bit like oil and water they don't mix.

The last I heard, various countries such as Germany are up to their collective ears with Muslims and don't more open immigration.

You are right, and somehow I don't picture the Muslims "doing jobs that even blacks won't do" (Vincente Fox)....

I think that this heavy Muslim immigration problem in Europe would be one of the MAIN reasons that I would want my country to stay totally sovereign....I wouldn't want to take a chance that the countries like France, with high Muslim populations, could start influencing laws that fit more with Shar'ia Law than laws like we in America have...

Correct they wanted the Turks before they had the east Germans as cheap labour plus also the biggest problem in Europe which we can thank Clinton for is the Kosovan refugees. The rules of the EC is that a refugee should be taken by the first country in the EC they enter how come many have ended up in the UK because they have heard conditions are better job more available welfare and health care better and of course France and German let them through because they do not want to be saddled with the problem. This has now been tightened up because the UK went ballistic (the people rather than the government but forced the Government in the end to take action)

Another oligopoly in action. I would maintain, however, the EU countries allow capitalism only as a means to their end of socialism. They realize socialism cannot pay for the social programs so they tolerate capitalism a little. Here, conservatives prefer capitalism and tolerate socialistic programs because of altruistic pressures from our left. Meaning, we like moving to the right while the EU has no intention of moving away from the left.

I think that we can look however to Germany in the future moving towards the right because they will not tolerate a bad economy for long it does not suit the German philosophy.

Have no doubt that the people at Moveon.org write all of Barbara Boxer's speeches.

I would like to think you're right, but I have not seen that so far. Nor has incorporating Eastern Germany been as successful as they thought it would be.

You'll have to bear with me in that I believe most people in the EU don't have the understanding of how markets work best in creating wealth. So, socialism seems to be the solution when it's really the problem.

CBS show had a panel on steroids...then Bob Scheiffer gave his Memorial Day tribute by detailing the torture John McCain endured in Viet Nam and comparing it to the "torture" going on in Guantanamo. He ended with some gibberish about "How are we going to explain this to our children"

Hope someone taped it. It really exemplified how classless and tasteless CBS is.

Recent elections in Germany have indicated however small a move to the right that this is happening.

If any country in Europe are going to move to the right it will be Germany and if they do then France as the poodle will probably as well. That is my humble opinion anyway.
