GM lets everyone in on its discount
Detroit Free Press | 28 MAY 2005 | MICHAEL ELLIS

Title and link only. All GM vehicles except the Hummer H3 at GM employee discounts? Huge!

Read about it, especially if you are in the market for a newer vehicle.

I will stick with my Concorde for now and my 300 or my Dodge RAM SRT here in a couple years :)

So it is either a Hemi or a Viper engine :)

"Can Chapter 11 be far behind?"

My thought as well. Nevertheless, it would be a smart time to buy if one likes GM.

Then again, maybe best to wait until they show up in the dollar store. /sarc off

Thanks! Well, we always bought GM until they priced themselves out of the market for us.

My '03 GMC Sierra was almost $12,000 off its sticker price when I bought it a couple of years ago. It cost less than my Blazer & had a bigger engine & way more options.

Back in 1979, I purchased a one ton chevy crew cab pickup with dual rear wheels and full time four wheel drive.

That was still considered 'light duty'.

I remember one winter back in Illinois pulling two stuck trucks out of a snow back. The second truck got stuck trying to pull out the first truck out.

I attached my tow rope to the second truck and pulled them both out at the same time. One of the drivers stood there with mouth open and asked 'what the heck kind of truck is that?'.

I took it on a trip to Phoenix AZ in January 1981 with a HUGE camper in the bed that slept 6. I averaged about 5.6 mpg on the trip. I got rid of it shortly after that.

I see where the General's bond ratings finally mirror the rating of their products - junk.

"I'll stick with my Toyota, thank you very much"

Same here cat...I had a Lexus which was unbelievable to drive and traded in for a Sienna van (baseball kids) and love it. We also own a Highlander. The bottom line for me was they are built in the U.S and have many U.S parts in them. Also,my neighbor is the GM of the store I bought at....easy decisions for me.

"I know CHRYSLER/JEEP IS AROUND 11-12 % off msrp"

Local dealer quoted me $27.1k for a new Durango with the Hemi; sticker on it is $37.4k.

He said if I finance that he'd knock off another $1,000.

That's an $11,000 discount...slightly better than 11%, I'd think!

My Liberty is almost 4 years old. I washed it yesterday and scrubbed the inside; it's as good as the day I drove it off the lot. My daughter and I drove across country in it last year and I never worried once. Both my Mom and brother drive Cherokees that have served them well for over a decade each! Chrysler has earned my business.

I don't know what the CRD is, but my Liberty suits me just fine!

The Liberty CRD is the Common Rail Diesel version of the Liberty. It has a 2.8 liter I-4 from VM Motori of Italy, a division of DaimlerChrysler. The engine delivers 160 hp and 295 ft-lbs of torque and 21/27 mpg.

I have a Sienna, too. I LOVE it. Who woulda thunk that my favorite car to date would be a minivan?

Thanks for the link. I didn't know they put a diesel engine into the Jeep Liberty. If you only need two rows of seats, want a true 4x4 and a tight fit-n-finish, the Jeep is a great choice for the $$$. With the diesel, it really becomes good for towing. Anyone who poo-poos it is crazy!!!
