"Thoughts?"

Here's a thought. To harbor an aversion for one whom you once revered in most unpalatable.

".... it is NATIONAL SECURITY..."

This point goes largely unstated......my understanding of these docs is that they are "intelligence intercepts", IOW transcripts of electronic intelligence gathering.....this seems far afield from USG normal business-type documents, and revealing them publicly with or without names redacted would damage national security. Most of the media seems to avoid giving this its proper due, publicly.

McCain must have the votes to stop Bolton, he knows the WH isn't going to turn over the documents.

He should run for VP on Hilliary's ticket.

He will.

Honest to God, I would rather Hillary win in 08 than McLame. She would galvanize Republicans like nothing before. McCain would "redefine" Republicans as something akin to Democrats but tougher on terrorism.

He is awful.

I really can't fault McCain but I do blame the Senate leadership for showing no backbone. And Frist wants to be the next president? Heaven forbid. He can't even provide leadership in the Senate; how can we possibly expect him to run the country. The Euros will run all over him.

Most of the pundits on the MSM haven't wasted anytime prolaiming him the Senate leader after Monday's compromise!!!

What happened Monday, is exactly, exactly what the dems, Levin, Kerry, Biden wanted Bush to do re: Iraq---get together with a few "buddies" like Chirac, Putin, Blair, and the German one(brain freeze), to form a "Compromise coalition" instead of "The Coalition of the Willing"...

and that little "coalition" would NEGOTIATE more with ole Saddam....and appease him like they are willing to appease the Iranians...

THIS is what McCain is doing again tonight, and the dems are seeing in McCain what they wanted Bush to be since 9/11.

Bolton's clearance is more than likely higher than that of the Senators.

I was told years ago by someone in the State Department that they routinely altered/redacted/stonewalled any documents to the Senate because they knew they couldn't trust them. OTOH, they also routinely shined them on, since they controlled appropriations.

On the killing hand, the Senators know they aren't going to get those documents. They don't want the information, they just want the issue. They figure the majority of Americans will only hear that information is being *denied* to their *representatives*.

Schizoids like McCain are right at home in DC.

why should Senators that are not allowed to see these documents, see them just to go on a fishing expedition? It's not as if Bolton hasn't been confirmed before. He has been confirmed 4 times!!!

You're absolutely right. The most ridiculous thing is that Biden stood up last night after the failed vote and said he just wants to see the information and then they can have the vote within 10 minutes. Now what the heck kind of sense does that make, of what value is that information to his vote if he needs only 10 minutes with the information?

Bite your tongue!

A so-called Unity Ticket is exactly what McCain has in mind, IMO.

I'd close every damn military base in NM and stop all federal funding to NM till this Nitwit resigns.

McCain is from AZ, not NM.

He will.

He would, but HIllary would not have him. The Clintons are not stupied. There is no way they would let this back stabbing nut case on their ticket.

If he was on the ticket he would be gone the day after the election.. quicker than you can say Vince Foster.

It's becoming clear that McCain wants to run the Senate. His antics are about acquiring power.

Does anyone really even care who the UN ambassador is?

I'm with you, 100,000% because I only care .000001% about the U.N.
