Reliable sources in the Saudi capital of Riyadh said Friday that King Fahd is dead, reports the Saudi Institute.
King Fahd of Saudi Arabia has been dead since late Wednesday, according to several well-placed sources in the capital Riyadh who spoke to the Saudi Institute, a pro-democracy think tank in Washington, on condition of anonymity.
A spokesman for the Saudi Institute told United Press International that the official death of the king will be announced Saturday.
There was no confirmation of a hightened security alert reported by some western media.

"I predict a massive power struggle amongst his family for control, and perhaps a bit of protest for Islamic Law."
That's what they already have . That would not qualify as protest.
They still cut heads off at "chop chop" square. That's about as Islamic as it gets.

That's true.
However I would still think that the midnight oilamps are being burned in the mosques to see how an advantage might be finally be obtained to cast the infidels out of the ME, along with all of the Jews, and embargo the West.

Just a fantasy...
Word on the streets of Little Havana, Miami, is that Fahd's first-born son was with a Cuban paramour while he attended the U. Miami. I would LOVE to see him try to gain the title.
Lots of swords, EVIL OUT, vengeance. All those idiot brothers and sons freaking out. They call themselves royalty, but they're just a bunch of tribal morons.
KSA is ripe for a takeover by ANYONE with the balls.

I thought Muslims had to be buried within 24 hours of death?... depends on what the meaning of 'death' is -- official, unofficial, sorta, kinda, depends on whose opinion ... ?? (maybe they learned from the Klintoons)

I've been to Riyadh, and know the place is horrible.
There is still always hope.
I'd love to see the Church rise up there.
Either way, we are taking the battle to Al Quaeda's camp by pressing for democracy in the Middle East. It puts them on defense instead of offense.

LOL.
Will King Faud be able to compete with Idi Amin and Arafat? I suspect the only one who could beat Arafat is Dear Leader Kim Jong Il. But maybe Faud could win some nice parting gifts.

This was reported about a month ago and was speculated as the reason for the long hand hold betweem President Bush and the Saudi Prince.
