Democrats in the U.S. Senate blocked a confirmation vote May 26 on John Boltons nomination as United Nations ambassador.
The honeymoon is over, Sen. George Allen, R.-Va., said as he left the Senate floor after the vote, according to The Washington Post.
It appears that our new start has already come to an end, Sen. Jim DeMint, R.-S.C., said in a written statement. I know that many Democrats will say theyre not blocking him, but todays vote looks like a filibuster, walks like a filibuster and quacks like a filibuster.

Why the Republicans are continually surprised when a scorpion stings is beyond me.
McCain's big declaration of victory was that the deal would get the Senate back to business. Back to the business of filibustering.
I am always suspicious when politicians believe that they can somehow miraculously change the tone or environment. When McCain says it, it is BS of the highest order.
Because they traded in their balls for a an enormous ego once they became senators!
Don't mean anything until the seven cowards return to the fold. I want to hear THEM say they were double-crossed and that they are ready now to vote for the nuke.
Absolutely correct. They are no longer anything except members of the most exclusive club in the world.

The only surprise is that 3 out of the 7 Dems that were in on the deal voted for cloture.
