Yesterday was a heart-sickening day on the Hill. Those who broke the law and are found guilty should be punished to the full extent of the law. However, the ugly part of this is how it will feed the public perception of "all those politician are just crooks." There are many men and women in the General Assembly to serve with integrity and honor. It makes me terribly sad that they will be tarred with the same brush. We pray for all involved.
Below are links to the indictments, information on the Hobbs Act, links to various newspaper reports and biographies of the legislators arrested.
And ethics reform. the ethics laws in Tennessee are so lax that the Speaker of the House is allowed to take payments from companies seeking to buy influence and everyone pretends that it's not really bribery because the payments are made to HIS WIFE!
Good work putting this together. I have been following the story with interest.
Am I the only one who sees s special type of progress here? A biracial consortium of criminal politicians "measured not by the color of their skin but by the content of their character" -- and now struck down.
he's the UNCLE of the MSM darling harold ford JUNIOR.
I just realized that Tommy Dasshole's wife was doing EXACTLY the same thing. What do you want to bet that her "income" has gone down dramatically since Dasshole was defeated?
You are right about that. The Fords are literally the heads of organized crime in Memphis and the people just keep re-eledcting them. I think a lot of it has to do with a "hate whitey" mentality and alot has to do with them watching the crooked white folds im Memphis steal everything that wasn't welded to the floor and now it's the black folk's turn. But several of the bribes took place in Miami and since this is in Federal jurisdiction, they can put the trial where they think they are most likely to get a conviction.
Thank the Eagle Forum. I just copied and pasted it.
He is jrs uncle. To be fair Jr seems pretty normal compared to the rest of the family.
