Actually, there was an article in a major British paper (Guardian comes to mind) which mentioned that the USA could have easily turned much of the world into a parking lot but hadn't.

From the lack of outcry over that, I assumed that reasoned (or satiric) discussion of using nukes was acceptable both at the MSM trough and at FR.
