(Note: to those not familiar with the building, it is called the Beehive and is part of the Parliamentary Building complex in Wellington. It hosts the government ministers' and most Members of Parliament's offices. In New Zealand minds this building epitomes the government)
An image of the real building is here:
Ping!
Nice!
Good political cartoons are rare. This is a good one.
What's the context?
(IE, what did the NZ Gov't do/not do, to be criticized?)
Ask the resident NZ FRer shaggy eel for details. Or start reading these two blogs:

Ping for shaggy!
(Found this on blog Silent Running:

Ping!
LOL I'm too lazy for that, I was just looking for the 2 line answer.
What happened with the Clark scandal?
Good cartoons. ;)
It's becoming out of control now. Last I heard someone (ACT's Rodney Hide, the most conservative politician we have for now) is going to sue Clark over her dishonest conducts over the resignation of former Police Commissioner Peter Doone. Then I haven't heard anything new since May 15. (The latest news is at http://sirhumphreys.blogspot.com/2005/05/clarks-astounding-duplicity-and-lies.html )
thanks for the ping - I think it's time the Aussies invaded New Zealand!

Be.
Maybe he is suggesting that all Kiwi politicians inhabit this strange gaseous planet light years away from reality.
No offense, but just about any political news I read from NZ gives me the impression that just about all of your politicians are from Planet Bizzaro. But then I don't hear that much news so I may be wrong.
Regards.
THANKS.
No idea. I gather that anyone on the left as recognized here is from PB, and don't even trust most of those who say they are conservative by NZ standards. Only three prominent NZ politicians could be trusted: Don Brash, Richard Prebble, Rodney Hide. (I would probably add some politicians less well known abroad like Richard Worth and Deborah Coddington to the list as well).
isnt new zealand the goverment that is taxing cow and sheep farts? if it is then i think that cartoon is wrong they are about 30 000 light years from reality
Precisely. These bunch of thugs must be voted out of office when we go to the polls in a couple of months' time.
Is it that soon? Has the actual date been set yet? (I guess that explains the recently announced 67 cents a week tax cut that starts in about three years time).
Someone is very confident about it. He said in this post that the election is slated to be July 30:
