We were usually too drunk to play pinochle! That being said, it was one of the best assignments I had. They really tried to make it livable. Pool, two lane bowling alley, weight room, bar, pool tables, etc. The food was always top notch, but we could never figure out why the ravens always disappeared when it was fried chicken day! ;-)

Served June 1944 - Oct 1968 US Army

Retired in '68 as CSM 782nd Maint. Btl., 82nd Airborne Div.

Forgive my non-mil syntax

The Colors will be proudly displayed at my house starting tomorrow morning through next Tuesday to honor all those who gave it all while serving and most importantly, those that have paid the ultimate price for this nation, and also, my Dad.

CPT Kidd and 1LT Dodson had only been in country 4 days prior to their deaths.

I tell people that being a jet engine mechanic was the best job I ever had. Had to pinch myself to realize I was getting paid to do that.

Speaking of chowhalls, did you ever hear about Nellis serving horsemeat a few times? Seems the west coast contractor for the military substituted it a few times. I never noticed a difference myself.
