With the Senate scheduled to seek a vote on the president's nomination of John Bolton today, Democrats are threatening a last minute parliamentary maneuver to block the vote.
Yesterday Senator Dodd, a Democrat from Connecticut urged his colleagues to vote against the closing of debate on the floor of the Senate until the State Department provided him and his colleagues with outstanding requests for intelligence on a speech Mr. Bolton was blocked from giving on Syrian proliferation. Mr. Dodd also renewed a request from his party for the names Mr. Bolton requested of American officials in National Security Agency intelligence reports. Names of Americans are redacted in these files and are not disclosed unless requested by a senior official...

Thanx for the warning. I'm telling you though, there are few that can get under my skin like Feingold can. LOL
I will not confirm that Tom Coburn is a "Constitutionalist" but I will take your word for it. So, let me rephrase:
There is only ONE Constitutionalist in the U.S. Senate.
How does that make conservatives feel? We have ZERO representation in Congress. You can't have representation when you are the "majority party" when the Republican'ts in the U.S. Senate are either flaming Marxists, turncoats or leftist leaning slugs, except for one--Tom Coburn.
There. That states it more accurately.
However, I will challenge you to show me quotes from Coburn where he calls the seven turncoats (remember there are more than seven, like Voinobitch and Sphincter) traitors and anti-Constitution. If Coburn does not have direct quotes on record where he calls these traitors for what they are, then he is as spineless as the others.
Comity or comedy?
WHat bugs me is that if Republicans behaved this way, McCain would command the microphones tonight to denounce them for upsetting the new spirit of bipartisanship he worked out; if someone asked him about this, though, he'd grin and say something innocuous.
Thank you. Too bad John McCain hasn't joined me in adding FR to his reading material. He seems to be reading too much of the wrong Post (as opposed to the New York version) and the wrong Times (as opposed to the DC one).
It's hard to stomach paying these rats to do nothing but obstruct government, damn, we can get that for free from several other anti-American groups.
Don't get me started on McCain.....and you're right. He's misguided for sure and has never seen a camera he didn't try to jump in front of....
It's definitely sarcastic......
He and John Kerry have something else in common besides serving in Vietnam. Around here he's known as John "Liveshot" Kerry.
Your right. And even though I heard some reaction from Frist and others last night, it was of the usual milktoast country club variety. Such as: boy oh boy, I'm really really upset about this. Our opponents were not nice and I just feel bad. They shoulda ripped 'em a new one if you know what I mean.
