Good morning, fellow political junkies. Senate gets an early start today, ETA 8:30 am. Reid asked for it yesterday, Frist said No Problem, that surgeons start working at the crack of dawn. Hmmm?..Could the good doctor want to "operate" on some Dems today? Debate on Bolton will continue today..they've finished drying the carpet under Voinovich's desk. GOP filed cloture motion yesterday, the vote will be about 6PM tonite. Will the Dems filabuster? Lots of talk that many in the Dem caucus want this to go away, they are NOT happy with Biden and Dodd dragging this out. If the Dems concur, we could get a confirmation vote tonite.
Did Frist just say they WOULDN'T be having a cloture vote?
Biden mentioned filibuser a number of times, and I didn't see Kerry's performance today.
It didn't sound like that to me
Frist bringing up all of the UN's problems.
I get Hannity on an hours time delay---on my radio right now, he is talking to Col. North---
What a coincidence...
Frist: Americans calling out for reform.
That's what I thought he said? Interesting! Have the Dems threatened to filibuster?
Well what will the cloture vote be? 65-30 in favor.
Frist praising all of Bolden's accomplishments.
Something is up.
Did Frist say no vote today?
Is there a cloture vote scheduled for today or not?
No vote?
Good grief...I almost forgot that 3pm my time is 6pm eastern. Glad I looked at the time before the vote is called.
Marking
Okay, I turned off the mute after he started talking so I must have misheard him....thanks
My guess is 62-32 in favor of cloture.
Dunno, tryimg to learn just that.
Just got back from picking up my kindergartener.
Frist better not back down here.....GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
I'm just joining in...what's up on the vote?
Frist points out Annan supports Bolton's selection.
Sounds like he will call for closure, but does not know if they will get the 60 needed for closure.
We're going to vote on soemthing but what is no unclear, maybe I heard him wrong, maybe he mispoke!
