STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL TOM CORBETT SAYS AARON BELIEVES "IT'S THE BEST COURSE TO TAKE."

CLARION - Clarion County District Attorney Mark Aaron announced Monday he is changing to a Republican party affiliation.

Pennsylvania Attorney General Tom Corbett was a featured speaker at the press conference held at Structural Modulars Inc. in Strattanville.

The two officials say they share a common focus on various issues facing the commonwealth.

"He has a history of bipartisan support," said Corbett, a Republican. "He believes it's the best course to take."

Aaron, a native of Limestone Township, added he found it difficult to gather support for his objectives through his current affiliation.

He said he considered the decision carefully and that it is not a move against anyone in the local Democratic party.

Aaron had served as the county's assistant public defender for five years before being elected district attorney in a close race in 1999.

He ran unopposed in last year's election.

Corbett said he and Aaron have talked about the possible party change for the last couple of years.

"He's been a strong voice for drug enforcement . . . and he understands drug education," said the attorney general. "Drugs are the number one threat to public safety."

He said he plans to work closely with Aaron to identify, arrest and prosecute drug traffickers.

Aaron has taken over the Clarion County Drug Task Force, he said.

The district attorney said serving in the office has been "very rewarding."

He also cited his prosecution efforts concerning sex crimes.

Aaron said he has sent more sexual offenders to state prison during his tenure than any previous tenure.

The rate of recidivism among sexual predators "is frightening," he added.

Monday's reception was attended by a number of area community officials, local Republican party representatives and others.

Corbett was elected attorney general last fall.

Prior to that election, Aaron held a local press conference to announce his support for Corbett.

Nice to have someone else in the Republican party, but it scares me that those who shift from the Democrat party are going to be RINO's for ever. We will vote for them and they will act democrat.

I'm not so sure it's the converts who cause us problems. I think many of the problems come from life-long RINOs, like McCain and Chafee.

Chafee is a third-generation RINO, isn't he?

Communist Goals as stated in the 1963 Congressional Record:

http://www.uhuh.com/nwo/communism/comgoals.htm
"15. Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States."

We already know that the extreme left are Commies, like John Kerry, Ted the Swimmer, Carl Levin, Nancy Pelosi, Barbara Boxer, Hitlery Clinton, and so on. The rest of the Democrats are outright socialists.

They have pulled the entire political system so far to the left, that the Republicans have drifted left as well. Consider that Bush has given 50% more money to public education than clinton, consider his prescription drug "benefit". These are not issues that a true conservative would support. There are very few true conservatives in Washington, today's republican party would be to the far left of our founding fathers. That doesnt bode well for the future of our country.

I predict that as the left gets more and more radical, that more Democrat "moderates" will jump ship and find shelter within the "big tent" of the GOP. This leaves no home for conservatives......building a viable third party takes decades. I still have hope that the conservative base will boot out these traitorous bastards like McAsshat and Lindsay Gerbil-Graham.

We need real leaders with real solutions, not just a bunch of double talk. We need real conservatives who will call these treasonous democraps out for what they really are....none of this "new tone" bullsh*t. We need real conservatives who won't call the minutemen "vigilantes". We need real conservatives who will get the UN out of the US and the US out of the UN.

At least. New England RINOs tend to have long pedigrees. And I'll bet if you go back further, you will find their families were WINOs (Whigs In Name Only.) But we probably shouldn't pursue that here.

"Oh no Toto, we only got three of the most conservative judges in America in a deal that the rats will break and give us more victories. Oh woe is us we should have elected bigoted Pat as our president. Now we're lost! Oh woe is us!"
