Bono and Condi Have Lunch
Between gigs in Boston, Bono found time to use his precious day off to have lunch with U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice at the State Department in Washington, D.C. this afternoon. Clad in a smart grey jacket, his famous purple shirt and equally smart grey slacks, Bono made quite a dashing lunch companion.
U2's next gig in Boston is tomorrow on the 26th, with their final North American first leg show to follow on the 28th. The boys head to Europe this summer and will swing back to North America in the fall.

Jesse Helms got on well with as well.
See my post at #20.
I'm with you on Bono too. He tries to walk the walk and talk the talk.
Oh, maybe I misspoke, it may have been Helms I meant. (I get the grand old southern senators confused sometimes.)
That's how I see the guy. I think he often tresspasses into places he has no business at times, but he seems to have his brain engaged MOST of the time. He is a bit of a grandstander, but I think his heart is in the right place.
... and he's clad in the very same "smart grey jacket" in this Helm's photo. But where's the "trademark" purple shirt? LOL.
What'd his shirt do to become famous??? Maybe he could borrow Donny Osmond's famous purple socks to complete the outfit.
While I normally hate it when celebrities get involved in politics and disagree with a lot of what Bono says (especially on debt relief), I do respect the fact that he's done his homework and actually puts some thought into his positions.
"Maybe he could borrow Donny Osmond's famous purple socks to complete the outfit."
Maybe he has, but the MSM won't publish photos below the knee. Can't be overshadowing progressive spokespersons, don't-cha know.
His pants and jacket are smarter than he is.
Who told him that jacket goes with that shirt?
Yeah, I know, but the effect this lunch is having on the DUmmies is worth it. I think Dubya should get a photo-op with the man just to provoke mass suicide on the Left.
"Who told him that jacket goes with that shirt?"
It sure wasn't Jesse Helms.
"For the children who enjoy calling names"
Calling other posters to this thread "children who enjoy calling names" is name calling. Childish, don't you think?
That's what I would like to know? Who is this guy anyway except a rock performer?
I just think it's funny... the more people know about fashion, the funnier they dress.
I think Bono wants to be remembered as Rock N' Roll's Ambassador To The World when he dies. I do remember his meetings with Helms and I believe Helms even attended a U2 concert in NC (unless I'm mistaken which I could be...whoever wants to, feel free to clarify either way).
