A good leader is alone. It's often lonely at the top.

And he keeps the group together with a common purpose or goal, while he motivates them towards that goal as a group.

And then some fall by the wayside.

I agree. It's always lonely at the top. That's part of why the job is hard. You don't always know who/what to trust.

RE: the common purpose/goal—That is exactly why this whole filibuster mess is such a blow. Yeesh. I'm going to wait however and see how it plays out. It may be ugly...or it may work out. There is no way to know yet. As the president said on election day "It is what it is."

As far as leadership qualities—President Bush is very politically savvy. I personally believe he's holding his cards pretty close to the chest on this one. I am still trying to figure Frist out. Hastert on the other hand has proved to be shockingly effective. I've been pleasantly surprised. And our grassroots organization is the best in the business.

Finally, if I had any say in it, McCain would be the one to fall by the wayside. ; ) Hopefully those that can do something about that, will.
