Hmmm...but what if the commandments conflict? For example, we have "thou shalt not steal." But if your friend copies his music and sends it to you, that prevents you from 'coveting thy neighbor's property.'

What an excellent example to set!

Technically, isn't listening to the radio the same as downloading tunes? I thought pirating was distributing the music.

All my pirated CDs are religious music...you know, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Genesis...

Definitely something to think about (for those who think).

Listening to the radio is only stealing if you change the channels during commercial breaks.

What about TIVO'ing or VCR recording television shows?

Will the kids pay attention to the commercials and refuse to fast-forward through them?

I think there are some more clear cut moral and ethical teaching examples that should be taught. For example, thou shalt not kill even if the Democrats say it's OK and act like fools to muck up the consitituion to prevent votes on judges who might also believe it's wrong to kill.

***It's unlikely the son of God envisaged the scourge of modern-day music and film piracy.***

Really????

He's done a pretty good job of describing the world at the close of the age.

Ok. Pretty off-topic, I know... but I've got a real problem with "WWJD".

I think I know what Jesus would do if he were around today. He'd heal the blind, the lame, and even the dead. He'd be able to see into the hearts of those he met and tell them their hidden sins. Then he'd die for those sins, conquer death, and walk on the earth again.

I dunno about you guys, but I'm pretty sure I can't do all that... even if I really put my mind to it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but when people say "WWJD" don't they really mean "What Would Jesus Want Me To Do?"

We can find out exactly what Jesus wants us to do by praying. Why do we need yet another pop-culture encouragement to rely on ourselves instead of God?

As believers, we should stop asking "What Would Jesus Do?" and start asking "Jesus, what shall I do?"

Here endeth the off-topic rant.

Me: Forgive me, Father. I have sinned.
Priest: What is it, my son?
Me: I listened to the radio
(silence)
Priest: I see. Were you.....touching anything?
Me: No
(silence)
Priest: I really just don't care. Go home and touch yourself and get back to me.
