This column by Paul Craig Roberts is obscene and I'm disappointed that NewsMax would include him as one of their pundits.

Memo to Mr. Roberts:
It's just a movie.

Yes its just a movie. It would be fun to have a thread discussing GWB's traits compared to Star Wars. As for myself, I don't believe he is Yoda like. Rather, he is a Jedi Knight of the first order....maybe Obi Wan?

As Yoda would say, "Quite the dumbass, Mr. Roberts is."
I think the moon-rock worshipers had just a wee bit of hatred for us before Mr. Bush came along. Think first WTC bombing and go all the way back to the Marine barracks. We have been their great Satan all along. You have to have someone to hate in order for your pitiful dictatorships led by in-bred camel humpin' prices to survive.

The machinations of the Senate were more reminiscent of the UN than the US Senate.

Other topics Paul Craig Roberts missed an opportunity on which to pointificate:
Was George Bush one of the Roman Soldiers scourging Jesus?
Was George Bush a Troll Commander in "LOTR"?
Was George Bush behind the disastrous attack in Paris in "Team America"?
Was George Bush responsible for the mission to retrieve "Alien?"

While much of this is foilhat the following contains a kernal of truth
"Just as Child Protective Services has had to frame innocent parents and child-care providers as child abusers in order to justify its budgets and a massive bureaucracy, the vast Homeland Security apparatus will have to "find" terrorists. Otherwise, there is no point to all the expanded police powers and the huge budget.
Just as the indignities of airport security and its assorted searches fall on loyal American citizens, the police state measures will also fall on loyal American citizens."
Large bureaucracies are notoriously inept but are good at self perpetuation by constantly finding new rationales for their existence. When the inevitable rat candidate wins the White house and enunciates 'terrorism is basically a law enforcement problem' on who will fall the weight of the DHS search for enemies-on normal Americans who have a touching belief that the Bill or Rights includes the 2nd Amendment and includes the right to strongly criticize politicians, in short the people on this web site.

The war on terror is real.
The movie Star Wars is fiction.

Just thought I'd point out one of the many non-sequiturs.
The U.S. prison at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba is full of mistaken identities and people who just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time -- including, according to The Associated Press, a chicken farmer and an invalid.
Chicken farmers can't be terrorists? I must have missed the memo.
Invalids can't be terrorists? The leader of the group that blew up the World Trade Center the first time is a blind man.

Well one solution is to... "dissolve the council, put power in the hands of the regional governors, and let fear keep the local systems in line."
And yes it is just a movie.

Why did Bush invade Iraq? No one, least of all the Bush administration, has come up with a believable reason. It's not that tough to figure out, Paulie. Iraq was the easiest to defeat and gives us a foothold for the real targets, Syria and Iran.
That the liberation of Iraq and Afghanistan (50 MILLION PEOPLE WHO WERE SLAVES ARE NOW FREE!!) has already yielded gains for freedom in the region (small steps but real nonetheless) is icing on the cake.
We now have Afghanistan and Iraq from which to work, and popular democratic movements in many middle eastern countries. From a strategic standpoint we're way way ahead of where we were.
If the likes of Paul Craig Roberts refuse to acknowledge this, that's their problem. Anyone with eyes and a brain can see what's happening.
