I'm afraid I'll have to call you on that point. He was a POW and EARNED every promotion and award that he got in/from Vietnam. As a Senior Ranking Officer in the POW camp he comported himself most admirably and valorously. Pick on his politics and ego as a politician, (Lord knows I and many Vets do) but please, not his patriotism by stooping to DU level calling him a traitor.

Yes! I thank him for his service to our country, As far as his senate service is concerned, he needs to be sent home.

And some how they put a Democrat, Communist, Marxist Computer chip in is brain while he was in the POW Hilton.
This guy is a Traitor, that stupid law controlling campaign contributions is as anti-American as you can get. My Congressman Sam Johnson took the same POW kind of abuse and is a staunch Conservative, what happened to McCain?

I am mad as hell but I must say I concur with the above. He is a legit hero, the real deal. But he needs to out of the Republican party. And if possible, out of the Senate.

I read that he brought down four planes during his service, all of them American.

He should have never received his wings in the first place. The only reason he did is that daddy was a high ranking Admiral. He crashed one to many planes in flight school. Had he not had the Navy silver spoon he would have never been in the air to be shot down and all the hoopla about his heroism would be moot. I take nothing from the man for surviving as a POW, but I get tired of hearing about his heroism.

Sorry to rant but in my minds eye since his military service and in regards to his affiliation with what is supposed to be the conservative party, he is a traitor and has been for quite a while. He has chosen to show little if any fidelity to the Constitution of this Republic contrary to both his Oath as a Naval Officer and an elected representative, much less his poitical party and the leader of that party currently occupying the WH.

Not meant to disparage you at all. All my thoughts are about Senator McQueeg. He is a nut case and not fit for service in this Republic.

McCain may very well have been all you claim he was. However, is actions betray the party platform HE accepted in 2004.

"President Bush has established a solid record of nominating only judges who have demonstrated respect for the Constitution and the democratic processes of our republic, and Republicans in the Senate have strongly supported those nominees. We call upon obstructionist Democrats in the Senate to abandon their unprecedented and highly irresponsible filibuster of President Bush’s highly qualified judicial nominees, and to allow the Republican Party to restore respect for the law to America’s courts."

trai·tor ( P ) Pronunciation Key (trtr) n.
One who betrays one's country, a cause, or a trust, especially one who commits treason.

In light of the above, I feel that McCain and the rest of his band of thugs can rightfully be called traitors to the party and the people which funded thier campaigns and elected them to office.
