He's lucky a lot of those guys that use crossbows would have fired an arrow.

What a dummy! You kill the dog first, then, when the guy comes after you, you claim self-defense. And, unless PETA finds you killed the dog, you win!

I'm suprised he isn't charged with "assault with a deadly weapon".

Most use bolts but some crossbows could use a man as its projectile.

It probably had a bayonet lug and a pistol grip. Grounds for drawing and quartering.

Seriously....who uses a crossbow these days? Lots of hunter's here in OK...that can no longer use a traditional bow and arrow...( long, recurve, compound ) because of medical reasons, can apply for a crossbow hunting license.
FWIW, that's how the law is here. Check your own state's regulations.

In Washington State, crossbows are illegal to hunt with. The regs on compound bows are also fairly restrictive, such that you can't use a bow where the strength of pull goes below a certain point when the bow is fully drawn.

I'm curious as to whether the dog shooting incident was legitimate or not. Maybe the crossbow dude is a major league @$$#013, and so was his dog.

Couple years ago a man in this town, the 4th most dangerous metropolitan area in the country, was shot in the neck with a crossbow bolt. Somehow survived.
