I had a huge discussion with my guy friends about this, some married, some not. We came to the conclusion that most guys in their late 20's, 30's and 40's who watch porn are probably doing so because their sex life stinks and they are not getting enough from their significant other. These guys, including myself, are tired of hearing the same old tired excuses and find it easier to watch porn than to beg for sex from their wife who would find it more pleasing to go visit her parents or spend time with her friends' kids or something.

Additionally, we all agreed that if we got more sex from the wives or significant others, we would probably watch less porn. My friends' wives are actually outraged that they even consider watching porn in the first place. Its a circular argument. Girl is to tired or emotional to have sex - guy gets frustrated and watches porn- girm is pissed off and does not want sex - guy is frustrated and watches porn.

I am not against pornography as much as other people are so long as it is not displayed on TV, etc etc.

Ding. Ding. Ding. You get the "booby prize" for being correct.

Life in the fantasy world is free of the risk of rejection that has to be faced in the real world. In fanatasy world you're always the king, every whim is fulfilled ...

In the real world it's having a decent relationship with your wife/gf/S.O is hard, and sometimes painful, work.

Having spent years in fantasy world before doing the hard, painful work intimate relationship requires, I'll take the later.

In my porn fueled fantasy world there was never any risk of rejection. The real world, however, was the only place where the acceptance I was really after, warts and all, and coming from another human being, was possible.

I'm never going back.

A woman's psychological need for sex isn't as strong as a man's is.

Nah, to be perfectly honest, you're looking for excuses. More specifically, you're shifting the blame. You're rationalizing your behavior, and actually blaming it on your wives or girlfriends. You'd be better off if you just admitted you like porn.

I don't dislike porn. I could lie down next to it and go to sleep. I just don't find it particularly arousing, and that really has nothing to do with how much sex I'm getting at home. I don't watch sports either. I think I just lack the spectator mentality, period.

Pornography serves a purpose in a civilized society. I have no problem with it. My husband watches, So what? I don't understand why women get so angry. And I do agree with you. Note to ladies: Unless you have sex everytime your husband wants it, what is the problem with letting him do it by himself? Are most women that insecure that they feel they are competing with porn stars for their husband's attention? It's crazy.

Maybe their wives don't like the idea of having sex with adulters?

“You have heard that it was said, ‘Do not commit adultery.’ But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. Matthew 5:27 & 28 NIV

Strange....I'm pushing 60 and I have never had this problem. Maybe you and your young friends should quit looking at porn and start looking at themselves(gasp!!)
