This whole filibuster fight is not about the current nominees! It's getting the senate ready for the upcoming Supreme court vacancies. Debating the qualifications of the current nominees is a waste of energy.

I saw Howie Dean on Judy Woodruff just a few minutes ago and he as much said the same thing.

Darn straight. From the text of the "Filibuster Agreement - Part 2, section B:"

"We believe that, under Article II, Section 2, of the United States Constitution, the word “Advice” speaks to consultation between the Senate and the President with regard to the use of the President’s power to make nominations. We encourage the Executive branch of government to consult with members of the Senate, both Democratic and Republican, prior to submitting a judicial nomination to the Senate for consideration."

In other words, these ass-clowns in the Senate want to subvert the Constitution, and select the judges themselves, instead of the President.
