I think the whole Senate needs a spanking.
Several of the GOP members will support the nuclear option should the Dems abuse the filibuster. This is not the end of the world.
The strategy for the 2006 elections is simple. We only need 50. Screw Chaffee, screw the rest of the RINOS. If I were the President and the RNC, I would not waste time or a dime on any Northeast RINOs. I would look to get to the magic number of 50 Conservatives even better 51 Conservatives. If that means the Republican Party loses some seats, so be it. Better to have a bare majority of conservatives rather than a supermajority of RINOs.
People get the leadership they deserve. Perhaps we can correct some of these mistakes in '08.
And maybe its the end of the conservative movement.
Why would they grow a backbone then if they wouldn't now?
If Mr. Frist is to subjugate this fiasco and regain our support; he must bring ALL of the nominees to a vote like he promised/demanded be done. If the democrats filibuster them (which they will) then he can show that the deal was phony. The big question is this:
Does he have the guts to do it? If he wants to maintain our support, his political career etc,... I pray that he does.
Never. The pubbies suffer from a lethal combination of pride, stupidity, gullibility and lack of balls. Fire Frist, tell McVain he should just change parties and then get on with it. As for Warner, Snow, Chaffee, Collins, Graham, Voinovich, Hagel and the rest of the RINOs: We know who you are, and WE VOTE! Buy your plane tickets home early, 'cause you won't be going back to DC YOU FILTHY TRAITORS!!!!!
And yet he's done nothing in response, other than feign disappointment. He is a gutless wonder and should be removed from the leadership.
And by the way, the White House seems awfully silent on this. It's after 1pm Eastern and I've heard nothing from WH or from Frist or even from Denny "Bathroom Break" Hastert.
Where has there been any opportunity for Frist to do anything?
Are you unwilling to wait and see what happens when the Demo's filibuster another nominee before making any judgments of him?
Why's he called "Bathroom break" hastert?
OH! I almost forgot to say that I think that the only thing that has really happened is that the magnificent 7 RINO'S have helped th Dim's "kick the can" down the road a piece. Nothing more.
Not anymore. He's dragged his feet for 2 years on this. He should have been on TV after the gang of 7 sold us out saying that it was NOT agreed to, that he would NOT Honor it, and that the Voting would start immediately in the morning. But he's said next to nothing. He's done nothing. He is gutless and a failed leader.
He's never around when you need him or want to ask a question of him. He's constantly "unavailable for comment" or "studying the question". It's like he's constantly on a bathroom break.
Limbaugh is talking about this right now. He says that McCain is doing this to make frist look bad so he can have the inside track on the nomination in '08. The way I see it, McCain shouldn't be allowed anywhere near the nomination in 08 if for nothing else then McCain, Feingold trashing the 1st amendment with their campaign finance reform.
I expect it from a commi like Feingold but for McCain to call himself a conservative and to craft legislation that muzzles political speech is beyond the pale.
So the Democrats will behave badly and the Republicans will roll over again. So what else is new?
I agree that this has taken longer than it should have but to say that he has done nothing is disingenuous IMHO (I was not there and neither, I assume, were you so how do we know what went on other than what the media has reported? I know who's side they are on!).
I will reserve judgment on Frist until this plays out completely.
He has months to see this coming and get McCain in line or out the door. He's done nothing.
McCain is a populist piece of crap. The guy has been riding his POW status for too long and I think that horse is on its last leg.
Can ya tell I don't like McCain? lol
