The modern American version of blitzkrieg backed up by determination of the commanders and courage of the troops.

I'll never forget Fox's coverage of Perkin's "Thunder Run" into Baghdad. I stayed-up all night.
Somebody please tell me he is writing a book, and the movie is coming.

Oh, yeah. Oh hell, yeah!
This kid is on 2,500 gallons of fuel in an aluminum truck. He said, "I knew the fuel had to get there. I just got behind the wheel, ducked down behind the dashboard, stuck my M-16 out the window and started shooting, and stepped on the gas..."
Oh, yeah.
The fight at Moe, Larry, and Curly was perhaps the most intense of the entire war. I've seen great excerpts on FR but no detailed books yet. Anyone help steer me to one?
BTW, "shake charge" = "shaped charge." Not a bad transcription otherwise.

I wish that I had seen this in February. Thanks for the post!

"Back in the Old Days, before 911, Conservatives Like Me worried about reports that Bill Clinton's army was doing huge military training operations based on "urban warfare" senerios. After all, we the paranoid Right reasoned, why would this kind of training be needed, unless Bubba planned a power-grab and our own cities would be aflame?"
I think it was Ralph Peters who said, "In the future, the term 'urban warfare' will be redundant."
Why did Willie Sutton rob banks? Because that's where the money was.
Why are wars being fought in cities? Because that's where the people are.

Just WOW!
I recall the night (US time) "Thunder Run" took place. I felt like something big was going to happen so I stayed up all night long and watched "Thunder Run" live on TV. My jaw dropped...
I was amazed by the boldness and courage of our guys to roll through the city, guns abazin'!

There is a very good book on the subject by David Zucchino:
Thunder Run.
