Listening to Bill Bennett's show this morning, I heard a lot of callers echo the same sentiment that I feel - "not one dime to the RNC".
I think this is a valid reaction to the current duplicity by the RINOs in the Senate - any money given to the RNC helps support turncoats like McCain.
One alternative, and an attractive one, is to redirect funds that would normally go to the RNC, directly to candidates that actually are republicans. There's a downside to this though, in that you don't have the influence as an individual that the RNC (supposedly) has over a candidate by virtue of the pooled funds.
So, I'm wondering if there are any valid national alternatives to the RNC - organizations which support Republican values and distribute their funds to people other than McCain, DeWhine, and Voinivich, to name a few.
I going to start donating directly to the people I think I can still count on.
And not one time to any organization that might give it to McCain, Snowe, or the rest of the seven.
I'd donate to Republican Candidates here in NJ...if there were any. LOL!
I don't think so. What are the alternatives? DNC, Liberatarian Party, Green Party, Constitution Party? Not much out there. If you feel you don't want to give to the RNC give to only those Senators that you think are worthy of it.
I also think that all Conservatives should be taking a hard look at the Conservative Party. They won't win but if they start to be the reason that Republicans have trouble winning then the Republicans are going to have to abandon their move towards Bush's big government socialism.
All of my donations to individual Republican candidates now go through the Club For Growth. They hold the Republicans feet to the fire by them knowing they can cut off this support as a large group or even run a primary challenger against them. They are the only group out there I know of that can put the fear of God into some of these weak-kneed Republicans.
Looking at yourserlf in the mirror each morning and knowing that your values are intact.
Oh, and you can also confidently bet that any privatization of Social Security will never occur as long as this mob is seated in D.C.
There may not be alternative parties, but there are more conservative PACs. Theres the Club for Growth supporting financial conservatives. Tom Tancredo started a control-the-borders pack, I think it's called Team America.
I think these PACs are better than an alternative party, in that their effect is to make the Republican party more conservative, as in the Club for Growths work for Toomey and against Specter in PA.
Toomey didn't get elected, but the Club for Growths batting percent is otherwise pretty good. And snarlin' Arlen has pulled in his horns a bit.
If you can't go third party, go to clubforgrowth.com. The organization is run by Pat Toomey for Congressman from PA, and big time fiscal conservative. They support ONLY candidates that believe in pro growth and low taxes. None of these jackasses are supported by Club For Growth.
Dear Leapfrog,
Congratulations! Now what to do, eh?
How about committing to come to our July 1-2 State Conference in Liberty
Hill, Texas? Then, decide what office you want to run for in the 2006
election and next bring your whole campaign team members to the conference
to hear all the great things we are doing?
Where are you located? What city/town/county are you in? I have attached a
membership application as well as a petition form.
I look forward to getting to know you and see our website at www.cptexas.org
for more great information.
Sincerely,
Bryan Malatesta
Texas Chairman

Sirs,
I've no doubt that you are receiving many emails such as this.
After watching last night's shameful sellout by the Republicans, I'm finally
convinced that the time has come to abandon the GOP.
In considering alternatives, I find that only the Constitution Party matches
my views across the board.
Therefore, please consider the CP to now be one member stronger.
Sincerely,
Leapfrog
Let's say Arlen's had his horns clipped by cancer. He should have withdrawn from the election last fall. He is a liar and no one should ever trust Specter again. He probably won't live to finish out his term which means Fast Eddie will probably appoint a dem.
Screw the Reps.
I've been a Strong supporter of the GOP but not a Dime more from me either.
Seems that the only way to be heard now is NOT by giving the GOP $3 to every $1 given to a Dem, but to cut them off completely and now SHOW "US" the Money.
They are showing "US" the money. The federal budget has gone through the roof on the GOP watch.
I believe Kolbe has long had the distinctioon of being the only openly gay Republican in Congress. He has been out for a long time.
Club for Growth is certainly a good start, but perhaps they are a little too 'limited' in their function. Perhaps Conservatives need to emulate some of the forms of the radical left wing. Moveon and the various Soros groups (ACT etc) have certainly been very effective in pulling the D's way left. There is no room in the D party for those that don't toe the radical leftist line. I certainly wouldn't mind if there was no room in the R party for those who can't even stand by the Constitution never mind the party.
