Centrists from both parties reached a compromise Monday night to avoid a showdown on President Bush’s stalled judicial nominees and the Senate’s own filibuster rules, officials from both parties said.

"Extraordinary Circumstances"=Any and all Judicial appointees, especially those to the SCOTUS, who happen to, or may be suspected of being, a single milimeter to the right of the looniest of the extreme left wing zealots.

The Senate Republicans have betrayed the issues, most dear and most important to the heart, soul and conscience of we who sent them there, just like they always do. Seems they would rather grovel for a smidgen of faux respect from their enemies, than to respect the wishes of we who sent them there.

Next time we must see that the only votes they get is from the left wing sonovabitches they serve.

Are the Dems gonna use the filibuster on a judge they formerly approved?

Quite possibly. You expect intellectual honesty from them?

As far as I am concerned, John McCain is a Democrat. I intend to call his office day and night, night and day to encourage him to cross the aisle. I also plan on actively campaigning to not just destroy his Presidential ambitions, but to destroy him PERIOD. I used to detest what was done to him in South Carolina. Now, I only wish and wish hard, that his experience in South Carolina is magnified 1Billion times. I want this guy to have his political career ruined. In my mind (and granted, I am pissed off right now) he has stained his service to this country today by stabbing the very people who elected him in the back. Eff you Johnny Boy, you are nothing but a media attention whore.

I also am making Lindsey Graham a project. This is the ultimate back stab. Better to be in the minority than to have a majority like this.

These GOP cowards should have been all over the TV this week.

But... they weren't.

This is why America lost tonight.

Face it people. We just got our butts beat.

Funny, that's not what Maj. Bob says in his book ("Major Bob Unvarnished"). I think he'd know.

The idea is that there is not a commitment to the death by all opponents---only a few---and to allow the enemy a way out so that you do not force ALL to fight to the death, but to fritter away and splinter. Sun Tzu. Pretty smart guy.

If we fracture off into a large third party now...Hillary WILL be elected POTUS. We cannot let that happen.

Sure...Let's stick with the impotent Republican Party...If the Dems are going to run things when the Repups are in charge, it makes far more sense to vote for the anti-Dems, not their allies with the big R...

"As far as I am concerned, John McCain is a Democrat."

Then so is the GOP if they continue to endorse him with our money.

I've been saying I am leaving the GOP, but in all honesty, tonight they left me.

Go to
http://www.senate.gov/
or
http://www.vote-smart.org/
I have used the webforms at senate.gov many times and gotten responses from my own reps but reps from other states I 've only gotten auto-reply. Vote-Smart has mailing addresses and phone numbers too, as well as voting records, bio, blah, blah, blah. Hope this helps

I think you both are being a bit dramatic and emotional.

I understand the frustration, though.

But if that is your final answer, good luck in your future political affiliations.
