Here's my compromise: Instead of all 45 Demagogic Party senators having to kiss Frist's backside on the steps of the Capitol, we'll allow Harry Reid alone to do it on their behalf. Really now, what kind of 'compromise' do you make between upholding 214 years of Senate tradition and rules vs. allowing the further trashing of said tradition and rules? The demagogues will try to limit the number of judicial careers and reputations they trash, so long as they can have an absolute veto on all possible Bush nominations to the USSC? Yeah, that's a very reasonable compromise.....

FNC....Major Garrot.....Dems will retain filibuster in the future for 'extraordinary circumstances'.
GOP will get votes for nominees (number not determined).
This soesn't sound good.....looks like a cave to me.

So let me get this straight.
Instead of a minority of 41 making the decisions we're going to have a minority of 12 making the decisions.
Folks, that's moving in the wrong direction.
To: jern
I'm watching it. If the Pubbies cave they have lost access to my wallet. We'll see.
To: jern
They better not have bargained away our option to do away with the judicial filibuster for any future nominees.

I predict (again) that they know they are going to lose filibuster if they don't vote for cloture, they are not willing to lose it yet, so they are giving up for now. We'll see soon.

I guess the 90-second Harry Reid commercial tonight scared the Rep'ers into surrender.
