Sisters give birth at 12, 14, 16
Three schoolgirl sisters have given birth aged 12, 14 and 16.
The Williams sisters, who live with their mother in a council house in Derby, feature in a BBC3 documentary called Desperate Midwives.
Natasha, the oldest, Jade and Jemma, the youngest, are reported to receive £600 a week in benefits.
Their mother Julie Atkins, 38, who said the girls were too young and had ruined their lives, blamed schools for providing poor quality sex education.
Mother defiant
Jemma was first to give birth, to T-Jay in February last year, and weeks later Jade and Natasha discovered they were pregnant.
Natasha had daughter Amani in November and Jade followed with Lita in December. The younger sisters are still at school.
Mrs Atkins told the Sunday Mercury: "I don't care what people say about me. I blame the schools - sex education for young girls should be better."
The sisters feature in the BBC3 series Desperate Midwives: The real truth about childbirth, starting from 9pm on Monday.
Episode seven follows a midwife from the Derby City hospital as she helps the family prepare for the third child.
No going back
Mrs Atkins told the Sun that she still found it difficult to believe what had happened.
"They are still little girls and now they have babies of their own," she said. "But I don't care what people say, I love my kids and I'm here to help them.
"If I could turn back the clock, I would prefer them not to have children. Their education is so important."
Two of the girls are no longer in contact with their children's fathers.
Jemma is quoted in the Sun as saying: "I only told my boyfriend David, who was 14 at the time, but I didn't want to have an abortion.
"He was my first love but now I'm gutted because he doesn't want to have anything to do with me or T-Jay."
One is a 38 year-old Asian man who lives with his parents.
"3 teenage pregnancies - 0 abortions."
You must have missed my post. The eldest girl has already had an abortion and two miscarriages. Not one to learn from her mistakes, evidently.

Birth control is free if you're on benefits anyway. Just gets better don't it?
In that part of town the usual family consisted of a mother, a passel of kids with a passel of different sperm donors and a pimp. To them, being a kid is what you do until you start turning tricks or selling crack...and most of the crack dealers had elementary age kids as their runners.

I'd say that they passed with flying colors.
The only sensible thing to do is deny them all government assistance. NOT A DAMN DIME. They either raise the children by themselves with their parents assistance or give the kids up for adoption or an orphanage. If we continue to assist these horrid little monsters in spawning the future criminals of the world, there will be no end to it. Stop rewarding the behavior and the behavior will stop. It's the only way.

Wouldn't surprise me if none of 'em ever saw the inside of a church, either.
We all know that they will be lauded as heros by the Liberal press for being "Strong women" in the face of their barbaric husbands. If they had any fibre of strength they would have said no.
Abortion is very, very, very widely available in the UK, so your comment is totally off the mark.
These girls are getting pregnant because they want to have babies because they want the checks in the mail every week. Pay a teenage girl with no morals $12,000+ a year to get knocked up, and what do you suppose happens?
The kids have nice, tanned complexions compared to their mothers' pasty skin.

I'm glad that they have a chance at life, and that they weren't aborted.
I appreciate your patience of me. My concerns are what happens to these babies years from now? If the mother and daughters were not responsible enough to prevent the many pregnancies, who's to think they'll care enough to put the babies up for adoption, the greatest effort.
The lesser efforts are to teach them and care for them, which isn't 'likely. These babies are going to grow up neglected, possibly abused, terrified of life, poverty, lack of education.
Surely sometimes no life is better than being locked in a closet, fed table scraps, made to lie in their own excrement, thrown out in the streets, begging, prostitution, incarceration, thievery, drug addiction, alcoholism, starvation, sleeping on bug invested, fetid mattresses, under boxes, foraging for food in dumpsters,....
Somewhere right now a child is hurting, crying, scared. It breaks my heart.
Wait, I just caught that! A grand A WEEK?? The UK pays young slutlets FIFTY-TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS A YEAR to get knocked up??
