All sorts of lines of research have zeroed in on pretty much the same age for the Earth: 4.5 billion years.

Indeed.

See my links in my previous post. :-)

Citations, please. Otherwise, you're just talking out your tail end.

I need a citation for your post first. Otherwise I can only conclude your tail end knows how to use a keyboard, and that, my friend, would be the kind of evolution we all could use.

Have you also done your own research to test the claim that the speed of light is c. 386,000 miles per second, or do you take other peoples word for that, too?

I have and look to my previous post for the actual speed. You are way off.

The proposed age of the Earth has been tested and retested by many researchers across numerous fields of research. As for 4.6 billion years, that age would fall within the margin of error; 5.7 billion would not and no evidence points to Earth being that old.

As I have pointed out many times, you can either pull the numbers out of your tail end (as you are doing) or you can go with the numbers that have been cross-checked and verified.

Sigh. No one asked about my microwave, ruler, chocolate method for measuring the speed of light. LOL!

Try this. Please note, there are 27 actual citations at the end of the article, including at least one from a creationist.

There is also this from the U.S. Geological Survey.

You've described my dinner this evening.

#300: Do those links address the question of planetary alignment, or do they spout current orthodoxy from a handful of scientists who subscribe to uniformitarian principles (and beat science over the head with them), or are they the infallible scriptures of so-called "modern science?"

Thankfully those who are interested in a real education know the difference between reasonable conjecture and immutable fact.

Okay. Give or take 200,000 miles.

We have all seen "slo-mo" movies like the one from which the frame below was taken. (Actually made by cameras that take many thousands of frames per second -- and are then played back at "normal speed".)

To me, creation was like God pulling the trigger: BAM! -- the light bulb is gone.

To us, with our finite ability to absorb information, we are like viewing the movie: the bullet slowly approaches the bulb and passes through (while the bulb retains its spherical shape) -- and then slowly scatters in all directions.

The "BILLIONS of years" limitation is not God's -- it is ours.

Do any of these methods measure the speed of light throughout the history of the universe?

"If you're going to call Christians to task for the Ken Ham's of the world, you've got to answer for the Prof. Protsch's. "

We do. We say he is wrong. We say what is wrong. We condemn his results and we let everyone know it.

You want to try the same thing with Mr. Ham, Gish, Behe, etc.?

(nice to see you again, but you sure are grumpy today :=).

What is the big deal about planetary alingments?

On a percentage basis how many people in the world have been given the tools and intellect to directly verify the age of the earth? In terms of universal history, how much accuracy should be granted the "billion-year" figures so worthy of acceptace by the masses yearning to be educated? Please give citations with your answer, and keep your tail on that keyboard.
