DR. DEAN: I said I wasn't sure, but I said I thought there probably were. But the thing that really bothered me the most, which the 9-11 Commission said also wasn't true, is the insinuation that the president continues to make to this day that Osama bin Laden had something to do with supporting terrorists that attacked the United States. That is false. The 9-11 Commission, chaired by a Republican, said it was false.

Dean is the set-up to make Hillary look moderate, thereby making her "acceptable" and "electable" in 2006.
I think that Dean was once again confusing Hussein with Bin Laden. If memory serves correctly has done this before. A bit of a funny Freudian slip on his part.
he must have "misspoke himself" - he must have been referring to Saddam.
unless he REALLY IS an utter loon.
which is possible.
Incredible. The more I see Demos like Gore and Dean and Reid trip all over themselves, the more I appreciate how brilliantly slick Clinton really was.
MR. RUSSERT: In your home state of Vermont, there's a vacancy for the United States Senate about to occur. Bernie Sanders, the congressman from Vermont, wants to run for that seat. He is a self- described avowed socialist.DR. DEAN: Well, that's what he says. He's really a populist.
MR. RUSSERT: But is there room in the Democratic Party for a socialist?
DR. DEAN: Well, first of all, he's not a socialist, really.
MR. RUSSERT: He...
DR. DEAN: He hasn't said that for a while.
MR. RUSSERT: Oh, he has a--he wrote in his book: "Outside or in the House, I am a Democratic socialist."
DR. DEAN: Well, a Democratic socialist--all right, we're talking about words here.
I would, but I'm not sure if he can read.
...And most of all, thank you Lord for making Howard Dean Chairman of the Democratic Party.

His compass is definately off base.
Great googly moogly. Dean's lost his last marble.
He really did say it, Dog, but I was listening and he meant to say Saddam.
Peach, the doc is a whack job. How can you be so sure?
He's a nutjob, that's for sure.
He was talking about Iraq and the war in Iraq and I'd bet almost anything he meant to say Saddam. I was quite surprised Tim didn't correct him.
You'll appreciate this exchange though.
Tim reminded Dean that he said that Osama bin Laden should be innocent until proven guilty. Then Tim asked how, given that sentiment, Dean could possibly say that Tom DeLay should be in jail!!
Dean wouldn't back away from the DeLay statement and mumbled some nonsense.
I hate giving Dean the benefit of any doubt, but in this case...
Please read the comment section....they echo the Live Thread this morning.
Well, he DID say once that once we get him, OBL has the "presumption of innocence" and should be given a "fair trial".
Dean as DNC chair is the best thing ever to happen to the GOP, lol!
Thanks! That guy Pedantius said it all, didn't he! :)
Sigh. I'm not.
I just read him also....he sure did.
I could see the moonbat leading the protesters.
If I may respectfully correct you, sir. That'd be RMS.
