Let me get this straight. The people sign petitions to get it on the ballad. They vote that the cross will remain in place. The judges revoke the intiative saying it is unconstitutional.

What is it about this that you don't get? The ACLU controls our courts. End of story!

This is a double post. I posted the same article earlier. I do a search of the title before I post to see if it was posted before. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1407613/posts

Wouldn't it be funny if the Cross is the only thing holding San Diego onto the mainland?

The big thing that needs to be done to curb this tax exempt legal firm of anti Americans is to remove the provision that allows them to collect legal fees, or better yet, require them to PAY legal fees when they lose.

One of the lawyers on this forum stated that doing so would make it difficult for people to fight civil rights cases. She then immediately invalidated her point by stating that she had litigated such cases herself, thereby identifying herself as one of the taxpayer looters.

I don't see how having a cross on public property establishes an official government religion.

This seems more about Christophobes erasing any appearance of hated religious symbols in public.

Once all hated religious symbols are removed from public to private property, they will then complain about how hated religious displays on private property are offensive. This is already happening.

This is really about hatred of God, one step at a time.

What did the cross do to the atheist who wanted it removed? Spoil his view? He wanted it removed just because he wanted it removed. It was all about him. It is a symbol of religious importance and historical significance. The symbol around the world brings hope to people in this life and for the next. It did no harm to the atheist.

It is easy to feign offense. Oh, I am just so offended by that. It has to go. It has to go because I say so. The NOW cows are good at that. People who are easily offended by the things that don't impact them, but want to exercise the power to take them away from others are narcissistic scum.

There is a Judeo/Christian heritage in this great nation. It is under assault, and specious arguments are made in the name of separation of church and state. The government declaring an official religion of the United States to the exclusion of all others is not what this country has done. When our government plans to do that, I will listen to the argument and join those to whom I now refer as narcissistic scum. Until then, I will fight to retain our traditions and symbols. Our founders never intended for the government to prevent religious expression.

Let the people of San Diego vote. May the tyranny of the small minority not prevail.

"The San Diego City Council voted this week to allow voters to decide the fate of the historic Mt. Soledad Cross overlooking the Pacific Ocean in La Jolla."

Did I miss something? I could have sworn I voted on this just before I left. If I had a dollar for every time this issue has resurfaced on our ballots, I'd be a rich FReeper.

I always think of it this way.

If the shoe were on the other foot, so to say, as a Christian, would I want the government of our country erecting statues of buddhas (sp?), likenesses of hindu gods, or quotes from the koran at a public park or school?

No, I would not.

I'm just afraid that if Christians "push" too hard on this, that the others will "push" harder and we'll get more "religion" than we want.

Erect a cross or scripture reference at your Christian school or Church or in your home or on your private property. Leave it out of the public arena.

Opponents of the transfer, including the ACLU...

The ACLU is the taliban of the US!!

The taliban blew up a statue of buddha, the ACLU is blowing up crosses across the US. Incredible.

More incredible is that we're letting them get away with it.

It's time to take to the streets against the ACLU and the corrupt judiciary!!
