The graduates pay rapt attention to the President of the United States.

President George W. Bush greets members of the 50th anniversary class (now elderly) of Calvin College.

The President arrives at an airport in Michigan earlier today on his way to the commencement at Calvin College. Yahoo identified the airport as Gerald R. Ford International Airport, Grand Rapids. However, we can clearly see in the photo that the stairs are from Grissom ARB. So our Dubya landed somewhere in Michigan — but we can't even trust the media enough to accurately tell us where, LOL! [All, I'm just poking fun at the media due to its many errors and fraudulent stories in recent years. There may be absolutely nothing wrong with Yahoo's caption.]

I heard the commencement speech (almost turned it off, but glad I stayed tuned). GWB began with some wonderfully self-depreciating remarks about the benefits of learning English language and grammar and that the graduates could see how far skills in those areas got him. There was much good-humored laughter.

I don't know how anyone dislikes this man. There are few in the public eye who would make fun of themselves when they are in the spotlight.

Thank you for the pictures---I watched the speech today, it was typical President Bush, he made THEM the heroes, not himself.

BTW, how is the new job?

Also, those that think this is a "political coming out" for Laura, better realize that she has as much political history as Hillbilly did, during the Clinton years...but, Laura is a good person, as well as a good "politician".
