The Apostle Paul said, "Let us behave decently." And at one time not so very long ago, the majority of Americans believed that behaving decently was the right thing to do. Decency, respect, and civilization go hand in hand. But modern libertine man has spurned decency, because where decency is, libertinism, which goes hand in hand with disrespect and indecency, can not exist openly.
Writing in "Judaisms Sexual Revolution: Why Judaism And Then Christianity Rejected Homosexuality," Dennis Prager said; '.....Human sexuality, especially male sexuality.....is utterly wild. Men have had sex with women.....men....little girls and young boys....a single partner...large groups....immediate family members...animals....inanimate objects....by dressing in women's garments.....through urinating and defecating on each other....by watching other humans be tortured.....by fondling children....by looking at pictures of bodies or parts of bodies. Not all have been condoned.....but many have, and all illustrate what the unchannelled sex drive can lead to."
Eros (human sexuality) can be either a force for the common good (families, children, social cohesion, civilization), or a force of social destruction (depravity, jealousy, fighting, children used for sex, abortion, crime, divorce). Prager: "When Judaism demanded that all sexual activity be channelled into marriage, it changed the world....and made the creation of Western civilization possible."
In "The Social Conscience of the Evangelical," author Sherwood Eliot Wirt quoted how Christian Aristides, an Athenian philosopher addressed Emperor Hadrian, AD 125, concerning the Christians. In a voice full of amazement he said; "They do not commit adultery or immorality....Their wives, O King, are as pure as virgins, and their daughters modest. Their men abstain from all unlawful sexual contact and from impurity."
Contrary to what moderns believe, the first sexual revolution was not in the 60's and 70's. No, the first revolution ever was brought about by first Judaism, and then Christianity, and as Prager said, it changed the world. The sex revolution of the 70's was simply a 'turning back' to the old ways when unchannelled, liberated Eros was a force of social destruction.
The ancient world was much like America is increasingly becoming.......a porn-fuelled sexually obsessed, almost anything goes world. And like the ancient world, where STDs, jealousy, suspicion, and sex crimes were rampant, so too are these things rampant in America's morals and values free society.
"I came to Carthage, and all around me in my ears were the sizzling and frying of unholy loves..." St. Augustine, 354 AD, "The Confessions of St Augustine
Ancient gods required a moral code but they, being capricious libertines, didn't live by their own codes. The reality is that the ancient gods were nothing more than today's version of 'morally sovereign" man posing as gods.
Moderns believe they are enlightened, but they aren't. By supposing that the height of morality is to live by the constantly changing arbitrary caprices of man, they haven't progressed one inch higher than the ancients.
The Law of Natural Consequences is upon America and is exacting a heavy toll. Human sexuality needs to be properly channelled. Proper channelling according to the principle of 'how things are meant to work" leads to civility, safety, and social progress. But when the sex genie is unleashed, as is the situation in America today, things begin to go terribly wrong, as evidenced by the pestilential plague of serial killers, sex criminals and pedophiles who are preying upon Americans and their children.
In "Sex Related Homicide And Death Investigation," 2003, by Vernon Geberth, (ret. NYPD lieutenant commander Bronx Homicide), the author observed that, "....sex related cases I am encountering today (as a consultant) are more frequent, vicious, and despicable than I ever experienced as a homicide cop.....There are more serial killers today....."
Obscenitycrimes.org, in an interview with NYPD Detective (ret) Raymond Pierce, asked him if he differentiates between soft and hard-core porn. Pierce responded, "I have no need to differentiate.....it's anything written, spoken, printed, photographed or videotaped to elicit a sexual response." Pierce went on to say that in cases involving sexual murders, rapes, and assaults......investigators expect to find that the assailants used porn. And in serial sex crimes, porn is almost always used."
From Geberth's book, here is a sample of a sexual sadist, in his own words: "When I got to Denver there were a lot of sex shops....I found bondage magazines and videos....of women and young girls tied, bound, and gagged in just about every way possible. I was in heaven. I bought lots of magazines and videos. After a year or so......I wanted the real thing......I didn't want a willing partner (though).....I began to walk the streets.......looking for the right woman or girl....." And this: "......the suspect......was a fetish burglar......(he) acted out his most perverse fantasies with her body.....(the) suspect made....1-900 sex-line phone calls....day and night from the victim's residence........he brought porn magazines into the scene.........he engaged in sadistic sexual activities with the victim's body."
In his book, Geberth recounts case after horrible case wherein the most unspeakably sadistic acts are perpetrated upon women, boys, and girls.
Little Jessica Lunde and other recent victims were uppermost in my mind as I read these stomach-churning reports and I wondered if those poor kids had been subjected to this sort of savagery before their lives were snuffed out as though they were of no importance.
In an address, "Pornography, Depicted Violence, And Crime," given by Richard M. Reade, Prosecutor, State of Victoria (Aus) on Mar. 16, 1991, he said, "In my opinion...... the serious problem our community faces (is) a a result of porn.....made freely available..."
As just one example out of many, Reade recounted in graphic, grisly details, the sadistically brutal attack made upon a 31 year old woman. Upon being arrested, the assailant said, "I have been reading books on bondage and I felt a strong urge to act out what was in the books......I knew it was wrong but couldn't help myself......It's those bondage books......those rotten books!"
Geberth had this to say about sexual fantasies, and how innocent ones can become aberrant, "....development of bizarre sexual images involving grotesque unnatural distortions of sexual imagery....is reinforced through repetition, illustrated by the use of sadistic porn and fantasy stories.....(of) sexual sadism" Geberth continued, "Sadistic fantasies.....may involve activities that indicate...dominance...over the victim......This case involved Cameron Hooker......(his) fantasy was to dominate and torture nude women......his fantasies were fueled by an extensive collection of hard-core porn..."
Watch Right Internet Crimes Against Children is an extensive collection of law enforcement agencies, weblogs, and informational sites dedicated to tracking, apprehending sex criminals, and preventing sex crimes against children. Scores of crimes are listed on their website and are updated daily. Here is one example: "39 arrested in NJ for child porn distribution. Those arrested range in age from 14-61 and include a high-school coach, hockey coach, a lawyer, and a pediatric surgeon." Also noted on WatchRight, was an FBI report that sex crimes against children rank only second to terrorism.
In "The American Sex Revolution," (1956) by Sorokin A. Pitrim, there is this passage: "Sexual anarchy assumed extreme forms and spread through a large part of the population. Side by side with an increase of sexual perversions, a shameless sexual promiscuity also greatly increased. They seduced members of the same family. Relations between father and daughter.....son and mother.......Adultery, rape......prostitution greatly increased.........homosexual love entered the mores of the population......all the aberrations of morbid eroticism........unnatural relations, flagellations, and sodomy."
Although America hasn't as yet sunk to the level of debauchery depicted in the passage above, it still sounds all too familiar, doesn't it? That passage was written by an unknown Egyptian over 4,500 years ago. He was describing the depraved social conditions in the Old Kingdom of Egypt not long before it collapsed.
America is on the fast track to becoming a modern version of the Old Kingdom of Egypt. Sexual libertinism fueled by porn has unleashed a wave of sadistic sex crimes upon America and especially upon her children. The ACLU and its assorted pro-sodomy cohorts are agitating for the complete eradication of what's left of America's traditional morality so as to unleash yet more depravity. America already openly and 'proudly' celebrates sado-masochism. "Leather" (bdsm) festivals are held 'proudly' on our streets and even in our nation's capitol. It's even being taught to her children. Anal penetration, by virtue of its unnaturalness and by the trauma, tearing, and pain it causes is a form of sadomasochism, as is fisting. But yet we are allowing our children to be conditioned by the practitioners of depravity to not just engage in depravity, but to do so with 'pride."
".....evil is nothing but a privation of good, which can continue to the point where a thing ceases to exist altogether." ........Augustine
The hour grows late America. Sexual libertines and the rest of their 'indecent' cohorts are leaching every bit of good from our nation. And when they have suceeded in doing so, all that will be left is evil. So let all decent Americans resolve to do as Paul said we should, and not just behave decently, but demand that everyone else behave decently as well. Remember: where decency and respect dwell openly, indecent libertinism cannot.

This story tries to lay all the blame for sexual libertinism on porn. And although I dont doubt porn shares the spotlight, it isnt the sole source. Although by his description of porn..>>>it's anything written, spoken, printed, photographed or videotaped to elicit a sexual response." <<<< Just about every act on Televison is porn including Bob Barkers beauties on Truth or Consequences.
There is little reason to think that restricting 'sexual libertinism' might be compatible with modernity as it has developed. The precepts of the sovereign individual are a cardinal factor in modern civilization, and restrictions on sexual behavior are inherently authoritarian, and therefore contrary to individualism. One may not like some of the results, but it's difficult to imagine how the 'genie' might get bottled up again.
Bump
I find the doctrinal position of four divinely established institutions to better phrase the article and the article is consistent with such doctrine. Those institutions being volition, marriage, family, and nation, which were provided by God for the living conditions of both believer and unbeliever alike.
The article's description of porn closely follows the etymology of the Greek word PORNEO found in Scripture.
The precepts of the soveriegn individual are founded upon the identification of the volition as being a divinely established institution. Restrictions upon sexual behavior might be based upon authority, but also recognize that aberrant sexuality has damaging impact on the other divinely established institutions. To wit, sexual immorality damages marriage, promotes adultery or fornication, presupposes more mature relationships within family, and ultimately erodes national integrity.
It is no more unreasonable to identify limitations of legitimate sexual behavior as it is to identify limitations of legitimate social behavior, such as discerning self defense from murder.
Laws against aberrant sexual behavior aren't created to limit lawful souls. They are created to control those who refuse to control themselves and place disobedience in higher priority than compliance.
The 'genie' is easily bottled up by simply recognizing volition, marriage, family, and government within their proper domains and defending those respective institutions within our legislation and law enforcement.
Bah - what do we care? As long as it doesn't directly affect ME, I shouldn't be bothered with it, right?
I mean, that's what the pro-porn, pro-drug, pro-hedonism Libertarians and Liberals want us to think, right?
What're ya, some sort of PRUDE? :-)
(/yes, much, much sarcasm)
I'm waiting for morality and decency to be the new "cool" thing for kids to do. Rebel against your parents, kids! Go to church! Wear decent clothing! Don't whore yourselves!
The original sin of David and Bathsheba was not that he slept with another mans wife-but that he was where he did not belong (stayed behind while his soldiers were preparing for combat. He saw Bathsheba bathing on the roof of her home(while her husband was away) We are not told all
the details-but there is enough to suggest the problem was porn.David saw Bathsheba and could not get that image out of his mind but returned to it. And the fantasy of what he could do--would do led to the behavior that led to the planned deception then death of a husband to protect the kings image.Dennis Prager is right.
Thank you Lindy Kim! We have been desensitized to the corrosive power of porn. The relentless pushing of the envelope has done this unspeakable evil the justification that so often is used that it's harmless is as old as the
Garden of Eden -and the whole seduction of Eve. when the
serpent said "Thou shalt not surely die."? The unthinking will fail to grasp the very significant link. The problem is not Barkers Beauties -per se -but that intentional attraction (pornea) The abuse of the created beauty to create what is NOT good.
I am not in the business of standing up for porn. BUT if all porn stopped tomorrow, there would still be adultery, queers and pedophiles and other sex crimes. I dont believe porn to be the cause of these things but an offshoot of these aberrations. In a cause and effect scenario its a bit like the chicken and the egg. Which came first. I say the acts came first and the porn followed.
Sorry to post again , but I just reread the headline.....America---The land of libertinism and sex crimes. Whe we judge America by the standards of many other countries, we certainly dont stand out. We have our share or more than our share, but places like Amsterdam, the Netherlands Germany and many other countries make us look like pikers when it comes to liberal sex and porn production.
snip...I dont believe porn to be the cause of these things but an offshoot of these aberrations.
If porn is the offshoot of (product of and/or created by) aberrations, then porn itself is an aberration or the 'tool' of aberrants. And if you truly believe what you've espoused, then you're in agreement with Geberth, ObscenityCrimes.org, etc., and the next logical step in your thinking should be that for the 'good' of society, the tool of aberrants aka porn should not be allowed in society.
You'll need to literally blow up the Internet. I do not exagerrate. And then impose a police state that makes the Taliban look like libertarians.
Well that covers everthing.
The writer is calling for extreme Wahabiism. And we know how that turns out.
porn is used as the most effective advertising and recruitment tool into the immoral lifestyle. it has been around as long as the perversions.
the "explosion" over the last decade or so is due to its "free" availability to all with a quick search on the internet.
society, for its own benefit, should figure out a way to control it within the bounds of our constitution. i agree it will never go away, neither will smoking or alcoholism or a host of other not-so-positive rights of a free society. there is certianly no need for society to embrace something that cannot be prohibited.
It is a market-and you are so right in your assesment.
With a minor adjustment IMO adultery and incest, etc. do
begin with porn(not the magazines or web photos-but related) David saw Bathsheba. He had a visual image he built a fantasy upon. In same vein Never knew an adulterer who didn't have that visual image -porneo--before the act.
Islam would agree.
