Putting Judicial Nominees in Perspective, Part III
National Review ^ | May 20, 2005 | Edward Whelen

Posted on 05/20/2005 10:12:39 PM PDT by cougar_mccxxi

Imagine, if you will, that a Democrat President nominated a judge whose constitutional and policy views were, by any measure, on the extreme left fringes of American society.

Let’s assume, for example, that this nominee had expressed strong sympathy for the position that there is a constitutional right to prostitution as well as a constitutional right to polygamy.

I agree w/ Dick Morris.... Bring on the fillibuster. Have the Dems give us Uncle Teddy and Flippin Byrd and the rest of the nuts for 24 hours straight... then 48... then 72... a week... until they collapse. I'd personally mention the comparison between this fillibuster and the ones that stalled civil rights legislation staged by Democrats every time the press asked for an interview. There has got to be money in the GOP for cots.

You should hve posted more of the lead in. I didn't know Ginsberg was so extreme. The current nominees seem downright normal compared to her.

Thats a good strategy, to keep the Democrats busy with the filibuster.
If the Republicans have the Democrats busy with the filibuster,
1 . # It will give the Senate Republicans enough time to try to find their weak spot.
2. # the American public will get sick and tired of them ( not that the American public is sick and tired of them already ).
3,# the Republicans will come back and get them when they are weak, when they are busy, and when their guard is down.
4.# The Democrats will shoot themselves in the foot, and wear down themselves in the process.

I say Democrats ? bring on the Filibuster, we are waiting, put your money were your mouth is, because ? don't' be so surprised if all of you get voted out of office for their very reason.

To the Senate Republicans ? NO COMPROMISES WITH THE LIBERALS/DEMOCRATS. NOPE,,,, NONE !!!!

Ginsberg lives in her own little world. She has no business serving on the SCOTUS (or any court, for that matter).
