MOSCOW - A Russian village was left baffled on Thursday after its lake disappeared overnight.
NTV television showed pictures of a giant muddy hole bathed in summer sun, while fishermen from the village of Bolotnikovo looked on disconsolately.
It is very dangerous. If a person had been in this disaster, he would have had almost no chance of survival. The trees flew downwards, under the ground, said Dmitry Zaitsev, a local Emergencies Ministry official interviewed by the channel

I am thinking, well, America has finally got to us, said one old woman, as she sat on the ground outside her house.

I am thinking, well, America has finally got to us,That's right, lady. And we're still ticked off, so watch your back.
Actually, I think this is a job for the ACLU. This hyper-power BS has got to stop. These people have rights.

Yeah, like we really care about your stupid little lake, lady! If the USA wanted to "get" you we wouldn't bother with the lake, for sure. Shows how absurd the effects of totalitarian propaganda can be....

Sounds like that lake in Louisiana that disappeared when Texaco drilled into a salt mine.

Same thing happened near Gainesville, FL many years ago. A hole appeared and the lake was gone in a matter of days.
Rumor has it Russians were behind it... (for the Russians who read this, that last part was a joke)

A lake in Louisiana had a Diamond M Salt mine and a Texaco drill rig bored into the salt mine.
No one was killed but the lake would have been drained if it wasn't connected to the gulf through canals.
The canals were running in reverse at over 8 knots and the rig and several boats were sucked down.
