TRENTON -- Faced with the possibility of not having drivers licenses if President George Bush signs the "REAL ID Act," hundreds of thousands of immigrants, many of them undocumented Latinos, will not be able to work, some fear.
Martin Perez, president of The Latino Leadership Alliance of New Jersey, yesterday called on Acting Gov. Richard Codey and state legislators to "consider the economic and humane ramifications of suspending or denying the licenses to hundreds of thousands of hard-working immigrants.

More like established to be the voice of criminal alien fugitives who commit multiple crimes by simiply being here, possessing fake/fraudulent identification and not paying taxes.
Time to drive home to their mamas.
Perhaps, but how soon until all traffic signs have to become bilingual?
ping
First, lets say they are from Mexico....
They can use their Mexican ID here and just show current proof of insurance covering their driving here in America.
It really isn't an issue.
The real issue is they want to have some form of American to access our system, banks, employment and social benefits from the treasury, and that would be an outrage.
Immigrants will have absolutely no problem with the new law. Illegal aliens will.
Time to drive home to their mamas.

Correction: It already IS an outrage!!
and why not bilingual dollars english on one side and spanish on the other.
True, where they have any American ID, it would be an outrage.
I look for Los Angeles's new racist mayor to cause some real violence with his activism. People mostly can't stand this stuff any more at all in California.
I figure if the new mayor says too much stupid "La Raza" stuff, he's going to make himself a target of all the non-hispanic gangs that would feel attacked by his "All Mexican all the time" approach.
I think lots of stuff is really going to come to the surface the next 3 years.
I think Washington is going to be FORCED to deal with this immigration issue the way MOST people want and they won't be able to just say the illegal problem is no longer because they are now all legal. That kind of action will remove every politician in Washington out of office.
So they have to get the insurance to drive in the United States from Mexico then?
I can understand a United States insurance company not being willing to back them with insurance.
Often they drive unsafe crap cars, are known by me for their drinking and driving and the cars themselves have little or no chance of passing a smog test.
Maybe they can by bus passes and travel that way.
The horror! Having to be here legally to work! Next, Republicans will be eating babies!
My feelings exactly. Between Fox's comments, and Villaraigosa's lack of restraint, he'll probably manage to provoke black on brown riots within a year or so.
Buy some popcorn. Sit back. Watch a terrorist self-destruct.
Another probable side-effect will be San Fernando Valley secession and even San Pedro secession. MEChA boy's election will probably get a lot of people off their butts to vote. And he won't have enough votes in central LA to stop it.
Ping me when the ink is wet.
The undocumented shouldn't be able to work here.
All of the illegals will be visa holders long before Real ID kicks in and they will qualify for it.
Right on, my thoughts exactly!
That Villaraigosa, is a real jerk.....
Excuse me? They'll need to be deported. For pity sakes, what is wrong with these people?
I got my violin ready. ILLEGAL ALIENS are not supposed to be here, LIBERAL MORONS! Below is the answer to your IMMIGRANTS' BS!!
Immigrants will have absolutely no problem with the new law. Illegal aliens will. Thanks muawiyah.
If all the registered hispanics came out and voted, they only represent slightly over 20% of all who can vote, so they are still a major minority.
This racist mayor was not voted in by the hispanic population to put forward some "La Raza" agenda at all, this mayor got in by a popular vote of a very liberal Los Angeles.
Our current mayor also managed to make an enemy of himself in the black community, so I think a ton of them voted for this new mayor also.
One thing that was real important though about this race. NOBODY brought up this guy's past or what he represented.
He ran in stealth mode and even the current mayor was not allowed by the party to present his history to the voters of LA. I found this the most remarkable part about this race.
