I don't know what the current deal is, but with the Earlier Star Wars movies, I believe Lucas got 80% of the gross and 20% of the concessions. Not bad and all parties were and are very happy. They make even more money on the DVD sales.

Concessions or memorabilia? He wouldn't be getting any of the concessions there's no way to track it at the theater and that's really where they make their money. The standard deal is the theater gets 20% of the gate the first week and that slides up the longer the movie stays in the theater until it peaks out at 80% on week 5... if it stays that long. That's one of the reasons theaters complain so much about the new Hollywood releasing 5 times as many movies as they used to, it's really killed the theaters gravy time except on rare movies like LOTR.

If memory serves, Sir Alec Guiness was paid nothing for his work in 1977's Star Wars. His deal was that he would get a large percentage of the sales from the movie-related product lines.
Brilliance on his part; he must've made a TON!
