Look at these returns for Thursday!:
1. Revenge of the Sith $50,013,859
2. Monster-in-Law $1,485,000
3. Kicking and Screaming $690,855
4. Crash $541,727
5. Unleashed $466,000
I've never seen such a huge gap between one and two.
P.S. Numbers 3 and 4 are aptly titled considering the circumstance.

They should be forced to pay a greater percentage of health care or contribute more to medicaid.
After all, they are one of those eeeevvvviiilll corporations.

I have almost zero interest in this movie, after the long boring Episodes 1 and 2.
I heard there was a tape going around called the Phantom Edit of Episode 1 that improved the pacing of the film. It'd be cool to get phantom edits of all three of these movies.

I saw it at a 11:30 am showing yesterday in a half filled theater. I enjoyed the movie and would recommend it. If one is looking for political messages I'd say Hillary might be a better example of a Sith lord in that she's attempting to redefine herself for the next presidential election, which is the type of subterfuge the Sith employ.
One thing that caught my attention however. In one of the climatic fight scenes Obi Wan says only Sith deal in absolutes...however earlier he refers to Darth Sidious as evil...guess jedi use absolutes as well, but they're just hypocrites about it.

Anyone recall how much opening day take the Lord of the Rings trilogy pieces got, for comparison?

I want to see this...eventually. But I'm backing off my earlier assertions that I'll be in the cineplex this weekend.
I'm in no hurry to see the anti-Bush rantings of a raving Marin County liberal.
Besides, I like Obi-wan Kenobi, and I don't want to see him defeated by a schmucky-looking Anakin kid.

Saw it last night...enjoyed the hell out of it....you can't always let politics run your life.
