I'm going to post what I did yesterday on this, but I'm in no way taking credit for the original research.  All I did was take OXENinFLA's list, do a little fact-checking to ensure accuracy, and then rearrange them in date order.

LIVE SENATE THREAD: "Nuclear Wednesday" for judicial nominations: C-span 2 - 9:30 am EST ^

Thanks for that great list! And I'm with Don't Tread On Me; this should be on a big poster board down on the floor as a background for the camera. At the very least, they could put up a website so the TV viewer could go read them.

Here are the Democrat Senators' quotes in date order.  Just out of curiosity, I spot-checked the accuracy of approximately 1/3rd of them, especially the entries that give only a date but provide no actual source (such as the Congressional Record).

For those entries with no specific source given, I found that these are the actual verbal statements of the Senators on the Senate floor.  These Senators' quotes have been used repeatedly on various TV news shows (CNN, MSNBC, etc.) and newspapers over the years.

While I didn't search long enough to track down those original statements in the actual Congressional Record, I have no doubt someone could track them down if they were so inclined.

DATE ORDER:

1995:

1997:

1998:

1999:

2000:

2001:

This info would be great in a commercial, even better if it had soundbites...

I hate to sound like a wet blanket, but if the dems were arguing in such force against judicial filibusters, doesn't that imply that the Republicans at the time were either using them, or for them?

I really hope that our voters keep in mind the RINOS that are trying to compromise OUR principles, and vote them out in the next election cycles.

New Democrat chant:

Count every vote!
Count every vote!
Except in the Senate!
Count every vote!

Good job, Peach! I cant wait to examples of your work cited in the MSM. Any day now the NYT will start printing these quotes. Followed quickly by CNN and the Wash Post, these quotes will be in the mainstream, and all of the people will see the DEMs for what they are! Any day now. Maybe next week. Next month.....?

You got posted on NRO!

A reader passes along these golden oldies from Sen. Kennedy and Sen. Boxer.

Here is a link to a Freeper list of Dem quotes on voting for Judicial nominees.

A couple of examples: Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-MA): “We owe it to Americans
across the country to give these nominees a vote. If our Republican colleagues don’t like them, vote against them. But give them a vote.” (Congressional
Record, 2/3/98)

Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA) 5/14/97 : “It is not the role of the Senate to obstruct the process and prevent numbers of highly qualified nominees from even being given the opportunity for a vote on the Senate floor.”

This isn't rocket science..... if the dems gum up the works the American people will get pissed at the party in charge (republicans) and they will lose seats. The same thing happened in 1994 when Newt promised action... and the dems lost the majority.

They probably could care less about judges.... they want their power back. They are bitchin about everything !!!!!
