Disliking Israel and its policies is not the same as being antisemitic and the author is disingenuous for stating that it is.
Germans may not like what Israel does, but that is not because Israelis are Jews.
There is classic parable to explain what antisemitism actually is: In the 1960s a Malaysian comes into the bar smiling and his friends ask why. He says, because the Israelis just shot down 2 Russian MIGS. The next day he comes back even more exuberant and is again questioned to which he answers, "The Israelis just shot down 4 MIGS". The following days he comes in looking terribly depressed. His friends inquired why and glumly he replies, "The Israelis just shot down 6 MIGs today, but I learned that Israelis are Jews".

Disliking Israel and its policies is not the same as being antisemiticUnfortunately, there is little difference in practice. When Israel is singled out for condemnation for practices no worse than those of other countries who escape condemnation, there is no other word for this than antisemitism.
