"When asked why his recent films depict America in an unflattering light, Von Trier responded, Mr. Bush is an a**hole. "
I'm hurt...
Okay, I'm over it...
Mr. von Trier molests collies...

Manderlay" is about slavery on a plantation in America in the 1930s. Since slaves were freed almost a hundred years earlier this has to be fiction.

I sat through about 20 minutes of Dogville before shutting it off out of complete boredom. It could be the worst movie I ever attempted to watch. Knowing that, who really gives a rat's behind what this tool thinks?

Lars von Trier: "
America fills about 60 per cent of my brain. So, in fact, I am American. But I cant go there to vote and I cant change anything, because I am from a small country. So that is why I make films about America.
Another pathetic little man, from a nondescript little country, who is obsessed with tilting at wind mills.
I wonder what fills the other 40% of his mind? Buggering little boys?

Edgy director Lars von Trier startled the crowd at Cannes by referring to President Bush with an obscenity. "Startled" the crowd? I thought cursing out Bush at Cannes brings out standing ovations.
Von Trier, who directed Nicole Kidman in Dogville,
A horrible, boring film. I want my three hours back.
So much in Denmark is American. We are a nation under influence. America fills about 60 per cent of my brain. So, in fact, I am American.
Excuse me? When did you take the oath?
But I cant go there to vote and I cant change anything, because I am from a small country.
No, you idiot. It's because you're not a citizen.
It has been frequently noted that Mr. von Trier, a Dane, has never been to the United States.
CANNES, France - Lars von Trier still has not visited the United States,
Let's keep it this way, Lars.

This says more about Denmark than America. Are spotted owls nesting in the wooden shoes over there now?

"Manderlay"?
The only people who will go to see it will go because they think it's remake of "Rebecca".
I guess this idiot's mind is at least 50% full of America's movies.

So it is our fault that you allow yourselves to be influenced? What a weak minded fool.
"America fills about 60 per cent of my brain."
The other 40% is apparently open space.

The film is dense and complex, and can be read as a critique of Americas attempts at nation-building, Oh, how original, I'm sure noone has done anything like that before. < /sarcasm >

Anti-Americanism as a marketing ploy. Works in Europe. Hollywood and other artsy leftists will use anything to market their films. Spike Lee routinely uses racism to market his films. So, this is just another day in the life of Hollywood lefties who line their pockets with money generated from appeals to the darker nature of humanity, regardless of the consequences to society and others.

I really would give anything for this moron to be able to step back in time for week to the Denmark of 1941 during the Nazi occupation.
He would realize what real tyranny and oppression is and probably end up dangling from a lightpost, or full of fist-sized holes in a ditch just from a cross-eyed look at his oppressors.
He has absolutely no clue what American/British and the blood of good Danes was shed for so he could run around and make movies criticizing the people who want to spread the same opportunity he no enjoys.
