This makes alot of sense for THIS story now.
excerpt: She gives an example of a Muslim woman who aroused suspicion by pulling away when a police dog sniffed her purse -- she had a Koran in the purse, and she did not want the dog, considered unclean, to come in contact with the Holy Book. /excerpt
Nice doggy must have smelled something. Cause, according to Islam, nice woman wouldn't normally be carrying a Quran.
THIS IS A DAMN LIE!
There are NO BAMS IN GRUNT UNITS
PERIOD! END OF SENTENCE

People have long made the point that since World War II, when cities were heavily bombed, no one is safe in a country at war. Certainly Iraqi women and children have been killed in bombings and at checkpoints. Whether we call them combat positions or not, there don't seem to many safe areas in Iraq. It should be safe to drive a truck from Baghdad to the airport, but it is not. How do you make the distinction in a dangerous situation like this? Anyway, as this article points out, women soldiers are indispensable in Iraq due to the culture.
But even more to the point, our experienced women soldiers will become even more valuable if U.S. recruiting continues to drop.
