There are people who have such excesses but are not corrupted. In money, think of Bill Gates and Warren Buffet.

Interesting choice of examples. I do think each of them sincerely wants to make the world a better place. I also think each of them is dead wrong on some bedrock issues.

As you surmised, I chose those two examples not because I agreed with every position they take, but because I am satisfied that they are both honest men. They may both have "more money than God" but they remain honest men.
