I have downloaded Thunderbird.When I try to get mail it asks for my password Since TB did not ask for a password when setting up I use my paasword with my ISP to no avail. Can anybody help.

my problems usually begin the morning after installing Thunderbird into my main frame.

Amazing coincidence! I saw a guy downloading Thunderbird at Fifth and Main today!
That's what every sane person is trying to get rid of -- Outlook and IE.
You will use the same username and password as you did with your previous email account.
That is what I first did, then I was told to use my email address as my user name.
Does Outlook Express have psychic capabilities to guess his password? I guess that would explain the tremendous demand on system resources.
User error.
I have not had any issues with either since going to win2k in '98, using XP now.

A few hours back I was checking the lyrics to Mexican Blackbird after reading the thread on grackles (which are Mexican blackbirds). It was the first time in 25 years I had thought of that song (or that album)
I had a problem like that several weeks ago. All e-mail accounts for two different users were suddenly requesting manual password entry (which did no good). The next morning no problem. Earthlink's mail servers had been down. Nothing to do with the mail client I was using.
Perhaps you are having the same problem with Adelphia?
