Standing ovation for Galloway

Respect MP George Galloway received a rapturous welcome at a packed rally a day after a ferocious showdown with US senators.

Hundreds turned up at a meeting in London to celebrate his general election victory over Labour's Oona King.

He was hailed as the "man of the moment" after returning from Washington today.

While there he was quizzed by a Senate sub committee over allegations he profited from Iraq's oil-for-food scandal.

After his interrogation he was convinced he had successfully rubbished the claims that he received vouchers for 20 million barrels of oil from Saddam Hussein's regime.

He also used his impassioned performance to denounce the Iraq war and attack the United States government as "the villains of the piece".

Arriving tonight at Friends Meeting House he received a three-minute standing ovation from the full house.

The crowd raised their hands to applaud him, cheered loudly and chanted "Respect" as he made his way to the platform, where he stood to receive their acclaim.

Linda Smith, chairing the meeting, said; "I think you will agree that tonight we have got a fantastic platform of speakers, including the man of the moment, George Galloway."

The first to address the rally was Mark Serwotka, general secretary of the PCS Union, who saluted Mr Galloway's "spectacular victory" in the Bethnal Green and Bow constituency

It's not Galloway, it's anti-Americanism at every opportunity for the freedom hating leftist and Islamofascists.

So much of the world has been totally turned upside from any kind of logic and reason.

After his interrogation he was convinced he had successfully rubbished the claims that he received vouchers...

Of course he'd feel that way. He didn't answer any questions and continually babbled the socialist party line of "Bush lied!" Typical of liberals, give them something that has nothing to do with the situation at hand, skirt the truth, avoid the subject, lie and walk out thinking that you won.

Only thing that I saw that was meaningful in George Galloway's diatribe was his negative reference to "neo-cons" and "Zionists".

That rather self-identfies him as a very dangerous anti-semite. I think I'm more disappointed than surprised to find that he was met by a crowd of well-wishers upon his return to UK.

Thank God we have ICBMs these days and no longer require Great Britain as a base of operations for the recovery of the Continent from the Nazis, neo or otherwise!

"Under repeated questioning, Mr Galloway conceded that Mr Zureikat did have extensive business dealings with the Saddam regime but, challenged over whether his friend’s generous contributions to the Mariam Appeal - £900,000 by his own previous assessments - could have come from the sale of oil, he stonewalled."

Great link, Thanx.

The left has ruined the language of logic and can now use any word or sentence to promote their agenda - anti-war supposes those of contrary opinion as pro-war which is utter rubbish.

I hate to admit but I got this story's link off rense.com. He's puffing Galloway like a cigar. Rense is well know for his "blame the Jew" for everything approach.

I kind of liked his style, mind you, not necessarily the content, just the acerbic presentation. I think politicians ought to be lambasted and insulted at every possible opportunity. The more abusive the invective, the better.

I think Galloway's a jerk, but I completely admired the way he in essence told the Senators to shove-it - something they need to be told more often when holding these pompous, for-the-media hearings.
