We have so many accents in the UK sometimes I have difficulty actually understanding someone from up north where I come from we sort of have a neutral accent.

Lol just like the U.S., I suppose. Northerners tend to have a very different accent than southerners though I don't fit into that. Southerners always ask me where I'm from and they're stunned when I tell 'em I was born in this same city and I've lived here all my life.

LOL- it's like that in the US too! My dad's family come from Virginia, my husband born & raised in New Jersey. When hubby met one of my uncles, we had to translate for him!
