Enjoy your visit to Sanity Island!
I'm almost out of my 40's :o(
Again, I wish I could say I was ALMOST out of my 40's---nah, you'll be entering into another wonderful age bracket. I didn't find 50 that much different than 40.
Sounds like fun. I'd rather get to my 50's than the alternative. :o)
You bet! As long as you're relatively healthy, and generally have a positive outlook on life, I think you'll find one age is pretty much the same. Each has it's positives and negatives, but all in all as you intimate "the alternative" is certainly worse than going through the various stages of our lives, and enjoying them to the best of our abilities.
Amen!
Thanks for the heads up . . . will have to wrap up my meeting early!
"Welcome! How on earth did you get so smart in such a short time! Must be really difficult to be bucking the family tide of dems! That's just great! You've made a wonderful choice, and may you be rewarded with great success during your life in the years to come."
It can be hard sometimes. My grandma is 88 and we watch the news during dinner, and we always get into little "fights" about politics.....and how "everything is bush's fault". If like the corn is cold, I say, "Oh Mom, the corn is cold, it's bush's fault isn't ??"
Same thing at school. Only, these people aren't my family. Like Today, this kid (who by the way is in 11th and in a 9th grade class) was like F Bush. At least I HAVE an opinion and I speak it instead of having that attitude.
I guess people just don't understand!! But I'm with you guys now so that's all that counts :)
Hi Kelly, great to hear from you.
One thing, as far as the kids at school go, I'm sure you realize that 99% of them, I'd bet, are just parroting their home environment. I mean, unless I'm waaaay off base, it's very unusual for young people your age to have any interest whatsoever in politics, and if they do it's almost always liberal.
There's an old saying that goes something like this---if you're a liberal in your 20's you have a heart, but if you're a liberal in your 40's, you have no brains. Anyway, whatever has put you onto this path, just keep going---you'll do just fine.
