Alvy, founder of PABAAH.com, is slated to appear on "ABC World News Tonite with Peter Jennings" tonite(Wednesday 5/18/05 6:30PM EST).
Topic: Reaction to George Lucas and his anti-Americanism at the Cannes Film Festival and subsequent boycott of all things Lucas.
Perhaps Mr. Lucas can cite one freedom he's lost?
Hey bonehead. The French were the ones who got us involved with Vietnam in the first place.
Very easily. Let me put on my progressive nitwit hat for a minute.
Sir, you and fellow conservatives have said you are boycotting this movie. Now that the movie has had the biggest opening day in movie history, is the conservative boycott a failure ? Does this also mean that the conservative movement in general is losing steam ?
failure? not at all...the media, including the NY Times and USA Today, helped broadcast our message about Lucas and his views on America...thus, our goal of alerting the American public, particularly the patriots out there, was successful. They can make an educated decision about how to spend their money...
Lucas won't get my money.
Nonsense. As Lucas pointed out, the script was written before Iraq.
What brought this on was a group of French Fried Fools who looked at the film at Cannes and thought, "Oooh-la-la! He is talking about ze War on Terror." The media ran with it, apparently not using the same restraint as they did with the Paul McCartney Death Rumor.
And, again, we are talking about a motion picture where 75 percent of what you see on the screen is visual effects. Think about that.
When the script was written is immaterial to the fact that it now appears as an attack on Bush. It was not just the French who have pointed this out. Lucas himself as well as other Directors and Actors involved with the actual project have been pointing this out. If you are aware of how a movie is made, there are numerous opportunities to cut out parts of movies before the final version (called a cut) is made. The plain facts are that Lucas kept the specific line in about 'you are with us or against us'. It should have been cut out entirely due to the fact that we are now in a war with an enemy who apparently has been getting covert assistance from countries which are currently neutral to the US. The Commander in Chief used a similar line to highlight the covert assistance the islamic extremist have been getting.
Hey, Jon, I saw PABAAH mentioned in an editorial in the Austin American-Statesman Sunday. I forget who wrote it, but it was most likely syndicated. Looks like you've hit the big time.:)
"I love how all these lefists blame "the lies of Vietnam" on Richard Nixon. He didn't get us involved there and was the one who finally got us out!"
And the chump is about to pocket another billion this year.............sheesh : )
