I read another article that said Scott and his wife have a child. If foul play on the part of the wife may be involved, seems like someone would be trying to protect the child?

I think so. Hotmail is inacessable, and his comments weren't available on his website. I'll keep checking to see if I can get into my email.

That's the problem. A lot of these women are crafty schemers, who prey on lonely men. This is why I was trying to find some data regarding mail order brides, and criminal activity.

They have an 11 month old son. I hope someone is looking out for that child's best interests.

Wow, it's a rare occasion when a journalist actually comes on and posts. There are stories here that Ann Coulter is a freeper, if so, you are in good company! LOL

I'm glad you're not ticked about posting your email. There was lots of research done here re Terri's situation and some of it appeared on this site before it made the news.Someone may find something that could be beneficial to your reporting. BTW I'm really glad that there's more than one report on the story.

The Empire Journal has reported that there is an investigation underway. I know that the police won't allow certain info to the public and that's understandable, no one would want to jeopardize an investigation but are you saying there isn't one?

A lot of people would really love to hear Jim King's quote on the news in Jacksonville. I'm sure he wouldn't like it but he runs his mouth all over Florida and people here are in the dark as to what his real positions are on some issues.

I don't know if you saw the info that had been posted back on some of the Terri threads but George Soros funded the Project on Death in America.
Here is one thread on it
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1371254/posts
There is more to it but I don't have the time

I found some articles that said some hospices may "not" accept you if you have a feeding tube. It appears that there is a movement within the medical community to do away with some life sustaining measures. IOW you're going to die eventually so why prolong the process?

Did you know that there is actually a Church of Euthanasia? The pic on their homepage is abhorrent!!

What still bothers me a lot is that words are being redefined by the pro-death force. For example, how many times did you hear "Terri isn't being starved she's being allowed to die." Since when is taking someone's food and water 'not' starving them?

Well, if they are lonely, they should get out and start meeting the lonely women in this country. However, I think what they are looking for are young, beautiful women who will do what they tell them to, when they tell them to and who won't ask questions. I find it difficult to feel too sorry for them.

I have read the Empire article. What I do know is that no police report was filed. Scott's mother won't comment much on her dealings with police (which I know she is having), because she is concerned she will compromise her chances of extending her guardianship.

The couple does have an 11-month-old son. They married in 2001, shortly after the 9/11 attacks. However, Liza Thomas has been here since around 1986.

Liza Thomas is allowed unsupervised visitation with her husband, but according to his mother, he makes it known thru their method of communication that he does not want to see her.

My producers and I are looking into doing a story with Jim King. I've gotten a lot of requests for that!

I had to close my browser window and open a new one to get into my mail account.

Here is the mention from Glenn Sacks newsletter:

Terri Schiavo with the Genders Reversed
During the Terri Schiavo controversy I speculated that we would not see the same outcry if the genders were reversed and it was the husband who was incapacitated and the wife who was trying to have his feeding tube removed. I guess we'll soon see, as this article explains. According to the article, the mother of a man who has been incapacitated for only eight months (Schiavo had been so for 15 years) is in a court battle against the man's wife to try to keep the man alive. Supposedly the man is sentient and supposedly his injuries were caused by a domestic assault by his wife. Moreover, allegedly she had tried to poison him on previous occasions.

Whether the allegations against the wife have merit or not, and whether one agrees or disagrees with the actions of Michael Schiavo, the wife in this case has by any measure been far less patient and interested in the welfare of her spouse than Michael Schiavo was. Correctly or not, Schiavo received a tremendous amount of criticism for his actions--somehow I doubt that the wife here will receive the same treatment.

He provides this link from the Empire Journal, which is the one already posted here.

I've seen some of the websites. The ladies are very attractive, but some of them look too young. There are predators on both sides of this issue.

These days it pays to hire an investigator to do a backround check before comitting. Yuck : (

Thanks for the info.

IMO Ms. Patton must have some concerns about her guardianship continuing since she is willing to have the story in the media. Media exposure helps her by raising public awareness and I know there were many people here that supported the Schindlers in their efforts to get guardianship and care for Terri.

I had the thought earlier that it might not be a bad idea to include in an advanced directive that you want a police investigation if you should become incapacitated under suspicious circumstances.

I think Jim King has some misconceptions about his constituents. I'd really love to know how many phone calls/emails/letters his office received asking him to vote for a bill to save Terri. Too many politicians think that once they're elected they can vote how they desire on specific issues and not according to the will of the people.

There is a protest against King tomorrow. I have no idea how many will come. When you rely on word of mouth then the turnout may not be large but you never know. Now there may be rain to contend with as well.

He's said he won't vote for anything that will change "his legacy". Now that we see that's truly his feelings he ought to do his district a favor and resign so we can elect someone who has the concern of District 8 and Florida as foremost priority and not their own agenda at the expense of someone's life!

Me, either. I don't think spouses or any family member should have the right to end lives if there is no medical directive, and there is another family member willing to take over guardianship and take care of the handicapped person.
